Hit a cat - what to do?

report it to a neighbour or something as they might recognise it - avoid what i did when the car in front ran over a cats head and i went to ask for a box as it was still thrashing on the floor and i would see if i could take it vets...

i knocked on the house of someone to ask for a box and she told me to bring it back.... then when she found out it was her cat she was a mess... :o

So driving back from work last night I get to the same road where the incident occurred. About 100m further up along it there's this black and white cat that looks the same as the one I hit taking a stroll on the pavement on the other side of the road to me.

I park up and watch it for a while. It seems to be moving along just fine. It takes a look at me; as if recognising the car, legs it into the fields!

Hoping it's the same cat.

Sounds like it, fair play to you for being concerned anyway :)

OP, can you drive around near my house for a bit and see if you can clip the one that keep crapping on my front lawn? Or the one that keeps running all over my car assuming it isn't the same one? ;)

EDIT- sorry, just saw your last reply. I need some one who can do a proper job on them. :p

I'll pop around your house and run over your car in my steel cat-pawprint soled boots if you want. :)

ferae naturae.

I would be more concerned with the damage to my car than trying to find some cat. If the owners dont want them getting hurt dont let them out of the house, my neighbur keeps his two in the house.

I ran over 2 squirrals last week. Its the racoons that are always roadkill over here. They must have no road sense at all.

Yeah you are right, we let ours out because we want them hurt

No thats ok thanks. The cats are doing a fine job of ruining my property as it is.

Oh and "ferae naturae" indeed... which is why they make a rubbish domestic pet in my opinion. Unfortunately millions of people disagree.

Well, yes to get the car out but i meant finding piles of cat crap in the flower beds.

Yeah I get that one too. What annoys me is that if I had a dog that **** in everyones garden, walked all over their cars scratching them up and chewing on the radio aerial in the process and danced out in front of traffic then I'd be held accountable for it but it is fine for little feline ******'*.

Any way, I'm ranting :o

Its funny how in this thread running over and harming cats is fun, part and parcel of becoming a man... yet in the other forum, hitting a pig thats about to get ripped apart by a machine to become a pack of Danepak is the worst thing in the world.

Well if they weren't around you could look forward to being overun with mice/rats and other vermin.

A few tiny turds buried in your garden are nothing like the worm ridden child blinding uber logs a dog leaves on the pavement outside your house and in the local parks.

You would love Cyprus, they throw down poison meat in the streets there.

If you don't want cats on your car, keep it inside a garage :p
