OK - Im 52..... I havent gamed on a PC in 14 years or so, and near where I could max game settings. I have played on PS3/4. I have ordered a new PC that will handle any current game at least 60FPS on max settings in QHD. I need some recommendations.

Games I have played (on any platform) and loved.

Fifa (will stay on console for this though).
Witcher 3
Skyrim and Oblivion
Horizon zero dawn
Resi Evil 7, and 1
Sim City 1 & 3
Civilization 4
Rome Total War
Settlers
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Elite - original and Dangerous.
Diablo

Should give you an idea on my tastes. Im not a platformer nor a FPS player.

Games Im considering:

Total War 3 Kingdoms
Divinity Original Sin 2
Crusader Kings 2
A Plague Tale
Anno 1880
Cyberpunk (on release).

So a few questions:

1. Any of those I shouldnt bother with
2. Any others I should be looking at.
3. - Most importantly, rank them.... ie which should I start with and which should I lave for a bit.

Thanks in advance.

A slightly oddball suggestion - Fallout 4. Despite how things might appear, it isn't really an FPS game. It's more like Skyrim et alia in a very different setting with a large serving of Settlers thrown in. Yes, there are guns. But there are guns in Elite too, which is also on your list of games you like. I suggest 4 rather than 3 or New Vegas (which are much better RPGs) because 4 has a very strong settlement building aspect to it. If you mod it with Place Everywhere it becomes a pretty good settlement building game. If you mod it with a suitable selection of the vast number of settlement building mods, it becomes a genuinely good settlement building game. I didn't even bother doing the main quest until I had been playing for ~200 hours.

Homeworld Remastered Collection is a must play in my book. If you want the whole story from beginning to end then start with Deserts of Kharak.

My advice? Tackle games one at a time. It's easy to get bored and abandon them when you have so many at your fingertips.

Now do yourself a favour, install Assassin's Creed Origins and don't look back for the next hundred hours. ;)

From your list I'd definitely jump on Divinity OS 2 first otherwise.

@paulmapp8306 if you play CK2 then EU4. Bit cut down on character interaction, more to do with countries.

Same applies if you like Elite, look at X4 Foundations which is far superior if you aren't on 10,000 hours exploration, but you want to build space stations and fleets.

Thats why I was asking for an order - Ill go one at a time. I have considered Origins - but I had Black Flag on PS4 and didnt really get on with it.

RE Elite - Ill have a look at X4. I am considering Eve Online.... Always been intrigued wit that but never had a capable PC.
