Hit me with some game recommendations....

I did have that on ps4 for a while. Got sluggish before it should have done. Might well try that on pc now it will run well.

Thanks for the reminder.

Cities Skylines, then get hooked to the billions of mods/assets available. Watch some youtube videos, get depressed you can never match any. Spend hours trying anyway.

OK. EU4 looks like a good option - hard choice between that and CK2, as there the same but different if you like. Wont get both - so need to research.

How does Stellaris rank here? More Civ by the looks of it - not as deep as EU or CK - but its space, with custom build ships :) I may well like that a lot - but ultimately the gameplay is most important. If its not as deep, or its more one dimensional then its not for me.

A slightly oddball suggestion - Fallout 4. Despite how things might appear, it isn't really an FPS game. It's more like Skyrim et alia in a very different setting with a large serving of Settlers thrown in. Yes, there are guns. But there are guns in Elite too, which is also on your list of games you like. I suggest 4 rather than 3 or New Vegas (which are much better RPGs) because 4 has a very strong settlement building aspect to it. If you mod it with Place Everywhere it becomes a pretty good settlement building game. If you mod it with a suitable selection of the vast number of settlement building mods, it becomes a genuinely good settlement building game. I didn't even bother doing the main quest until I had been playing for ~200 hours.

Tried it on PS4 - didnt like it at all. Not sure why, I just didnt.

So - I need to dig deep (though I have a week before the PC turns up so have time).

So far, after basic research Im thinking

1st/2nd - X4 Foundations (looks really good), and CK2/EU4. Not sure which to go with first - OR whether to go CK2 or EU4.
3rd - Probably Divinity Original Sin - only because Anno is a similar kind of game to CK2/EU4 (more city building - but its about empires)
4th - Anno 1440

By which time Cyberpunk will probably be here...... if its not Ill jump into A Plague tale at that point. Ill leave Total war till later - as while I enjoyed Rome, I enjoyed the "grand strategy" part more than the RT battles (fun at first but got samey quickly).

So the main choice at present seems to be CK2 or EU 4 - then that or X4 first.

If you are like me and love strategy/tactical games with a historical slant, consider the Paradox games.

Europa Universalis IV
Hearts of Iron IV

Liking CK2 isn't a guarantee that you'll like the other Paradox grand strategy games. They don't have the same personal feel and the mechanics are very different.

If you like your turn based strategy, BattleTech is a serious contender for your time. The season pass is worth it for Career Mode alone, but you also get flashpoints and a number of new mechs including the famous Urbanmech. If you want to run around shooting people with a recoilless rifle stapled to a dustbin on legs, it's the game for you.

Thats why I was asking for an order - Ill go one at a time. I have considered Origins - but I had Black Flag on PS4 and didnt really get on with it.

I don't blame you, I didn't bother with AC games pre-Origins either, but they changed the formula with it and it's a monumental game, same with Odyssey - the latter being very Witcher 3-esque. I don't rate the older AC games at all tbh.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, a literal blast.

And I hope you ordered a 3440x1440 UW monitor to go along with your new PC. :)

This for me, has rejuvenated my interest in PC gaming, the added immersion factor is immense.

Civilization VI especially if you get gathering storms expansion it adds a lot to the game

Dragon age inquisition is a great RPG and looks stunning
Diablo 3 if you just want a chill out game
Path of exile not played it myself but heard great things
Rocket league is great fun

Nope. Its standard QHD. I did consider UW - BUT its not the only video source going into it - and there are problems with non standard widths from my other sources.

From your list if recommended Witcher 3 to start with. The Bioshock games are good too.

That was fmr the "played it and loved it" list. I might get in on PC, but I completed the PS4 version before the 1st DLC hit (about 6 weeks I think it took me). I havent done any of the DLCs - so might be worth a play through again then the DLCs - especialy as tgrapically it would be a lot better on the new PC..

EVE Online always run on 15 year old PCs. Except if you had something before 2003, EVE run on anything.

The Last PC I had was spec'd and bought 2000. If I recall it has a whopping 20GB Hard drive. I ran it until about 2007 then switched to consoles (for the kids mainly) - and picked up a bottom end Laptop for the family to share for internet stuff/homework. Even back then it was a mid tier at best PC - so no, I never had a PC that would run it really.

A budget PC today with a 2600 and RX570 would run it perfectly at max out settings.

I'm sure, not really relevant though is it?
My point is I'm considering eve as a game option, and that it always interested me but I'd never had a pc the could run it properly.

With a new build pc on its was that's no longer the case ..but is it worth a sub game, given others available or should it be high on my list.

I do need to check out some f these. Im a strange breed. I really didnt get on with Red Dead Redemption 2 either. ITs the last title I bought on PS4 and though Id love it. I got board very early on. Just because something is a great RPG doesnt mean I'll love it.
