Hywel Dda University Health Board (UHB) are the first in Wales to launch a public PA system discouraging smokers from lighting up outside their Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire hospitals.

While I agree we don't necessarily know what's being emitted by e-vaping devices, I do think this is a step too far. A simple sign should do.

Can't say I care about vaping, much in the same way I don't care if someone smokes near me as long as it's not in my face, and not when i'm eating.

It's far more irritating having them driven outdoors so they can start fights 20ft from my bedroom window at 3am on a Sunday.

Most Vapers are as ostracised as smokers are by narrow minded bigots.

It's harmless.

Less harmless than atmosphere smoke pumped out in nightclubs in fact. Same base ingredient except food / pharmaceutical grade.

Do you drive or intend to drive? The fumes from that are far more damaging to people.

dont feed it, it'll only come back, angrier, quoting things, and calling people "worse than hitler"

i can kind of see the idea, can we have a button for people being too noisy, driving/riding/cycling like idiots, farting etc.

my primary objection to this is that considering i beleive quite a substantial number of nhs employees do smoke, what do they intend these people to do?

this is very much an all stick and not a lot of carrot effort, and a massive waste of money given it will:
a. be pushed constantly by kids, regardless of wether there's any actual smokers presend
b. be ignored by all when it is legitimately pressed, due to a.
