Hitman Absolution Pre-Order.

Hi all,

All preorders now get hitman 1,2 & Blood Money on steam

PS weekend sorted
Does this apply if you've already pre-ordered? Edit: Yes it does :D!

Yep it's a scathing review - lots of negativity when compared to Blood Money.

From skim reading the bad points include:
  • Small levels, where you basically kill to get to a door on the other side of the map
  • DRM means you have to be online connected to IO's servers
  • No mid-mission save function
  • Buggy stealth / line of sight
  • Dodgy disguise system
  • Needs a high-spec PC to play

Hmmm.... some of this suggest it might be worth cancelling the pre-order and seeing other reviews/opinions?

 I really hope not..

lol pc gamer... No doubt black ops 2 will be a 90+% review...

I think if you're a hardcore Hitman fan a lot of those points can be said for the previous games. Getting caught when you know you shouldn't have, and not getting caught when you know you should have - are part of Hitman.

For £19.85, I still can't wait to play.

Did you buy it off steam?

If so they should be in your games section to download

If not you dont get them

Well that sucks. :(

I think I will wait for more opinions, if its bad, i'll just sell my key, there are much more useful things I could be doing with the money I get back.

Having thought about this today, I think you're right. Even Blood Money suffered from inaccurate detection. And I never used saved games mid-level, I always tried to achieve a perfect silent assassin from map start to end.

The review says some of the new features work really well, and the graphics & vocal soundtrack is good - so perhaps some of the PC Gamer review is a "bit rose-tinted glasses"?

I'm going to stick with my pre-order and if it turns out to be crap, it'll probably still be better than 90% of the console ports coming out recently.

Nail on the head to be honest, been playing Blood money today and whilst its still good, i think if that came out today it would score low ish, hitman has been a like it or hate it sort of game.

Exactly, Blood Money is a fantastic game but would most likely score similar numbers if released today..maybe even lower.

Have there been any online reviews yet? I've heard a couple of the major magazines have slated it :(
