Hitman Absolution Pre-Order.

Just completed this, i did get alittle lax towards the end and kind of lost my way, i was no silent killer.

I can relate to that - early in the game I tried my level best to stay silent and sneak through levels, past bad guys. I did however, feel that in taking this approach I kinda rushed through the levels without actually seeing much of the entire level itself?. That make sense?.

Then towards the end I just couldn't stop using the silenced Ballers using instinct to 'paint' my targets. Very satisfying.

I'm on what I think is the last level and I've thoroughly enjoyed this. Once I've completed it though I don't think I'll be in much of a rush to replay it. Back to Dishonoured for me. :)

Another negative post that does not explain the reason for the negativity, honestly either explain the hate or don't post no one cares about baseless comments like this.

Apologies.

The game has had removed everything that makes Hitman Hitman. The level design is small, unimaginative, and seriously lacking in options and far too linear. The weapon choice is fairly varied but nothing Blood Money didn't do, and the customisation is limited only to 'Contracts Mode'. The AI see and shoot at you through walls, not to mention the disguise and stealth systems are buggy to the point of redundancy. I know that there is planned updates to fix this, but how do the devs get away with releasing it in this state? After all this has been and always will be a key and defining dynamic in the Hitman series. It plays like Splinter Cell, which is no bad thing, but if I wanted that I would have bought Splinter Cell.

It looks nice and I like the feel of the game, the movement is good, as is the shooting and CQC animations. However these points alone, in my opinion, do nothing to redeem it overall.

Yeah, sure, it's a watered down and riddled with consolitis. It's not amazingly complex or in-depth, but if you enjoyed Dishonored / DeusEx:HR (not as free-roaming and smaller levels, mind you), that kind of stuff, it works.

The higher difficulties look a lot more like a challenge. I don't think I'd be able to do it in any reasonable fashion without 'instinct'.

My problem with it though is that people buy it expecting a Hitman game, not a Deus Ex/Splinter Cell game. It should just be called Bald Guy: Absolution. I have added it to my 'does not exist list' along with God, the fourth Indiana Jones, all the Star Wars films with JarJar Binks in them, The Thick of it series 4, and the third Godfather.

A good game overall, i think its just good enough to make in interested in the next one..

Same here, by the end I found the single path levels very tedious and playing stealth was just so hit and miss that I ended up gunning most people down instead. The earlier levels are the best for the most part as you get to do proper assassinations, towards the end you're just taking out (or avoiding) grunts.

Story was pretty poor too, I didn't care about saving Victoria and the links from one segment to the next were often pretty limp. Having one mission where all you do is get a new suit was just plain bizarre.

7/10 from me, shame as for the first few hours it was feeling like a 9.

Some levels in this just cry out "go in all guns blazing". The Saints level for example. I just saw that as one of those moments where, if it was a film, agent 47 would have just one man armied it. Just felt right to kick off a big gunfight. Obviously, score was crap but I didn't mind that.

Just purchased in the steam sales, i hope this game aint bad. It seems to have a bit of marmite appeal you either like it or dont.
I really enjoyed it, others who I'm sure are lurking in the shadows waiting ti weigh in thought it was an abomination compared to the originals.

I was going to buy this in the Steam sale until I read the reviews. Is it really that different to Blood Money?

While I often disagree with reviews the PC Gamer review is so specifically scathing - on so many different issues - even after patching some of the worst ones and the performance issues and the killer changes from Blood Money (which I love and the reviewer calls one of his favourite games) that it has totally put me off it.

Huge thread so obviously I haven't read it all yet, I'll start now, but any advice from Blood Money lovers greatly appreciated.:)

Been playing the sniper challenge for the last week lol
I think I prerodered at amazon and then cancelled prior to release.

Ended up buying the game on the MM now too lol :(
