Hitman Absolution Pre-Order.

Nvidia users should be on latest beta driver if you have problems and them squares are related to the DOF setting

You're right, detail is amazing, but I had one crash during the tutorial and decided to call it a night. It could be driver or display port related but I'll figure it out tomorrow. :)

Crashes could be anything to be fair :p. Game looks great even on medium settings, clunky performance thought, can only assume consoles are holding yet another gorgeous game back, even on PC. :(

nope, no dice on that, going to have to re-install which means ill get to play it in the morning :<

and yes you are right, its 25gb D:

Don't uninstall yet thought, it might just be a server thing, as a lot of people are trying this at the same time, I doubt your the only one with this issue. Give it a whirl in the morning and see what happens.

As for the size, Steam really need to start compressing files in downloads, and uncompressing once downloaded on a permanent basis, quite a lot of people are on below 5mb/s, and a lot of games now are getting in excess of 10GB. Plus it'd take a lot of stress off the servers.

I can't find the post now, but it's a setting that you have as 'medium', it goes if it's set to anything else. I just forget which setting the guy said now...

Cheers mates!

Youve been very helpful tonight mate, muchly appreciated :) ill be getting up nice and early to give this game a run through, already started redownloading and its at 25% so not bad for 20mins. Yeh i agree with the download sizes, i mean why dont they!!!

No problem mate, I know how it feels to be without that shiny bald barcoded noggin in your life, I couldn't play Blood Money until 2 weeks after release :(. I still get nightmares from those 14 days of hell :(. ;) Not bad on the speeds though, you could be playing by about 2.30AM if you feel like it. :p

Anyone else getting crashes? I still haven't managed 5 minutes of gameplay without a crash. Tried 310.54 Beta drivers and it would crash immediately once the cut scene ended on the first mission. Went back to 310.33 Betas which worked for about 5 minutes before giving me a DirectX error and crashing the game. That has happened twice now, so going to try 306.97 WHQLs.

Edit: Would seem that it is indeed a driver issue and 306.97s work.

I knocked AA down to 4x and get 70fps in the benchmark was getting 30fps at 8x. Trying to run in 3d is a joke even with no AA its only 25fps.......

Anyone on Ati having performence issues?

Rig in Sig - getting 30 fps-ish 1200p mostly maxxed 4xAA.

Wondering if theres some CPU bounding with this engine.

God damn this game takes ages unpack on steam.

EDIT: Just unpacked and ran the benchmark. My average was 47 :p
