Hitman Absolution Teaser Trailer

I went down to my local shop today to buy Hitman: Blood money but they didnt have any in stock. Buying it of a work mate though for a tenner instead. Now I know that some people have had problems with it playing on their tv and having to adjust the settings so I may need a bit of help on doing that if it comes to it.

It's a piece of cake.

If you launch the game and it tells you that you need it in 60Hz mode then all you do is plug your composite cable in (the **** one that comes with the 360 as standard) and then go to the display settings on the Xbox, switch it to 60Hz, unplug the composite cable, plug the HDMI/Component back in and that's it. The 60Hz option isn't there when you have the HDMI plugged in which is why you need to use the standard cable. If you can't figure it out at the time then just invite me to party chat or something. :)

Better start looking for it.

And true Alrik, very true

Just seen that gameplay footage, looks quite impressive :)

Never really got into the Hitman games previously but reckon I might like this/them now

Do a search on a thread I created - solution is in there. Although I haven't tried it yet! :) Not been on the 360 since asking.

If you need to borrow a component cable to do it if you only have your HDMI I can mail you one so you can set it up then sent it back when you're done.

That's if you don't know anyone else you can borrow one from. :)

Offers there, it would be a shame to miss out on my GOTY :D

Well the advert is now on XBL and the woman defiantly says 47 as if shes expecting him to be there making me think its her who gives out the missions and hes on a vengeful mission for the people who created him (something like bourne)

I just wish they would give a release date. Im really eager for this game to come out.

I don't think he'll be out for revenge on the people who created him, mainly as you kill your creator much earlier on in the story. It'll more than likely be what you said in an earlier post, but then you kill pretty much everyone in Blood Money in the final level apart from Diana who revives you with the lipstick. The movie before the credits shows you in somewhere that looks like China on what is probably a contract, so I'm guessing it will be more of the same. :)

My guess based on the true end of Blood Money and the teaser trailer is that the woman in the shower is Diana and as the agency has presumably been disbanded 47 is there to set up a new one with her. I doubt he'd kill her, I believe that the final level of Blood Money was an elaborate set up, to allow 47 to kill those targets and everyone who knew about the events of Blood Money in the same place.

Are they trying to make me not want to buy this game or something?

The voice actor for 47 and the composer from previous titles have been dropped.
They are including stupid things such as this "Instinct" bull**** that shows you where the enemy is going to patrol and it lets you see through walls (), which isn't a problem if I don't use it, but if it replaces other features such as the level map that shows all the NPCs then I won't be pleased.

They still haven't shown much of the game, but what I'm hearing and seeing so far isn't making me want to go out and buy this game. I'll wait a bit longer before I make up my mind, but so far it's looking like the game will be picked up second hand for <£10

For me it's too early to tell, but I do feel it could go either way. I really hate that they feel they've had to drastically dumb the game down to appeal to the ADHD kids who need to have their hand held and non-stop shooting otherwise they get bored. The developers even said that they were going to keep the game familiar to long time fans, but also make it accessible to newcomers, well they can either do one or the other, and at the moment that video makes it look as if it's more geared towards shooting everything in sight with little repercussions and hardly any thought required.

I'm still going to need to see and hear more about the game to make my mind up, but if they've thrown everything out the window and just made the main character into some sort of psychopath that is encouraged to just go in all guns blazing then it probably won't be for me at all, and that'll be a massive shame as this is one of my favourite franchises. :(

I think this is actually a good point. Found this on wikipedia (not reliable I know)

David Bateson will not be voicing Agent 47.

Agent 47’s handler, Diana Burnwood, has a “close relationship” with 47 in Absolution.

The main antagonist is revealed to be Blake Dexter, a new character to the series. The character will be voiced by Keith Carradine.

It has been confirmed by the developers that the game is only going to be set in the United States, with one portion taking place in Chicago. Other locations are unconfirmed.

The game will be released around 2012.

Players will be able to set up elaborate traps.

There will be a moment in the game which will divide fans into 2 distinct groups

He mustnt be going to kill Diane but just makes me wonder why he brings his pistol out when hes in the same room as her. Still though. Looking forward to it

Also guessing that the moment that will divide us will be when it says it will keep it original yet still have a wider audience

Cool. :)

I wonder what the dividing part will be. Like you say it could be where they've said they'll please both newcomers and long time fans, but I don't see how they can do it. If you take the most recent and similar type of game, Splinter Cell, look at the earlier versions, I loved Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory and also Double Agent, and as a long time fan of the series I was really disappointed by Conviction. Don't get me wrong the game was really fun to play, you felt like a proper bad ass and you could just mow down enemies, use awesome gadgets and kill people in a number of ways, but it didn't need to have the Splinter Cell name and for having that name I think is what made me disappointed in it, as it was so drastically different to the other games in the series, they basically abandoned almost everything I loved about the game, apart from the gadgets.

My fear is that this is happening with Hitman, I'm afraid that it will be a great game in it's own right, but that it has absolutely no right at all in using the Hitman name or character.

yeah I know what you mean. Hopefully it will be earlier in the game which allows it to say give you a choice. You kill someone with either stealth and it only allows it to be stealthy or vice versa. Probably wont as itll be to much but would be cool other wise or this could be why its taking so long. Bit lik GTA 4 where you had the different choices. As long as it has the majority of it like the others then I will be happy

We have brand new details regarding Hitman Absolution from the latest issue of Edge. Check them out below.

  • Game is primarily set in Chicago
  • Begins with Agent 47 on the run from the Chicago police
  • IO’s Glacier 2 engine supposedly offer fantastic facial animations
  • Use of cover mechanics.
  • Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise (sounds a lot like Splinter Cell: Conviction so far)
  • Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.
  • It’s powered by silent take downs
  • No big scale map screen as in previous games.
  • Mini map still highlights points of interest
  • New threat meter is a grey circle that wavers in directions where enemies may spot 47 (again as in Conviction)
  • There will be lots of improvised weapons players can use that are unique to each location
  • Players can take hostages as human shields as in previous games
  • This hostage taking prompted some complex AI patterns in the demo, with cops fanning out realistically to keep sight of the target.
  • Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.
  • Some stages will be as large as in old Hitman games, others will be much smaller
  • New structure allows for greater variety and complex set pieces, as well as story driven moments
  • Having a disguise doesn’t mean you’ll be able to fool everybody
  • Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.
  • 47 and Diana will have new voice actors
  • Hand to hand combat will be involved.
  • Instinct mode increases disguise effectiveness. As cops in the demo questions 47′s movements while he’s disguised as a police man, he enters instinct and uses his police radio to fool them
  • Each disguise has safe spots, like a box of doughnuts for police men.
  • You’ll be completely safe in that disguise for as long as you want
  • New engine offers on the fly editing for AI. AI can also affect group behavior now.
  • Whatever you do, the AI will react to that dynamically
  • The way crowds will be used will be different
  • The game releases in 2012 on the PS3, 360 and PC.

That's my opinion of that list as well. There's some good things and some bad. You can see that they've at least tried to please current fans with some of the things mentioned on that list. But it does have a very strong suggestion towards a more arcade experience for newcomers to the series.

Only just saw this post. Cheers buddy, appreciate the offer. Will pop you an email if I get round to buying it. I've decided to clear a backlog of games first and sell some on - I've got a silly amount of them stacked up here.
