Hitman Absolution Teaser Trailer

My only problem with this is going to be that when a game forces you to play it a certain way if I don't nail it 100% I won't want to progress any further until I've done just that so I can see myself spending 30-40 minutes on any one section and so my problem is going to be if the game ends up getting a boring due to the over reliance on stealth and sneaking about :/

Watched that last night, I'm not entirely convinced. I like that more of the terrain is traversable now compared to previous games, and the dialogue from the NPCs was good and felt realistic and as if their behaviour actually changes, rather than them repeating the same old stuff over and over (ala Splinter Cell Conviction). I also liked that getting into a firefight didn't compromise the ability to leave the level undetected.

I didn't like the cinematic approach or the slow-motion action scenes, they just didn't sit right. Could do without the noob-vision mode that tells you where to go and where NPCs will walk, but I can understand it's there for people who found the previous games too hard. Didn't like the OTT soundtrack at times either, I desperately hope they've got Jesper Kyd back again working his magic, otherwise it's not going to feel like a Hitman game at all.

That's clearly a heavily scripted level and doesn't even involve a hit, we've seen levels like this before so I'm not concerned at all. The graphics look great and the animations look much improved as well. I expect that noob vision will be disabled on the higher difficulties, much like the map only offered a tiny amount of information on Professional difficulty. Can't wait for it. :)

7 posts above yours Shami :p

Fail :(

Yeah it was very scripted, a bit like the Bioshock Infinite trailer we had.

Not quite sure how they're going to explain the noob vision, I mean at least Batman has the gadgets to explain it :p

Yeah it looks a little bit like the opening level from Hitman: Contracts.

They're probably going to palm it off as your "instinct" or something silly like that, personally I'll never use it as it would feel like a massive cheat. It's one thing highlighting enemies and objects but it's another thing showing enemies exact paths, it would completely spoil the game for me and I hope they haven't removed the map.

You guys seen the most recent gameplay vid (weighs in at a little over 16mins). Some great footage!

Seeing through walls? A cover system?

Truly a disgrace to genre. Looks like Hitman Blood Money was a last good game in this series.

I can see your point with seeing through walls, not realistic really, but the cover system is something I think was needed.
Grabbing dudes from behind walls ect, I like that idea, it will only add to 47's stealth tactics

A cover system with the ability to see through walls will just make it too easy and take away from the whole effect imo.

I'm sure the eagle eye is an optional thing, if you boys don't like it you can always ignore it ;)

I believe they've said before that features like that will be disabled for harder difficulty levels, so hopefully there is a way to get a more 'true' Hitman experience. That said, from what I've seen so far in terms of them making the next game more story-driven, as well as no Jesper Kyd providing the soundtrack, I do doubt it'll have the same atmosphere as the previous games.
