Hitman Movie - Agent 47

I just returned from seeing Hitman.

It was as bad as it was made out to be (11% on Rotten Tomato's :O), but it was all a bit unnecessary considering the main character. As someone said earlier, there is not really a lot of stealth involved.

There was certainly no need for a female lead, but on the whole I enjoyed it. Some of the gun fights are immense and Olyphant carries the film well.

Personally, I wouldn't pay to see it at the cinema. More of a rental.

What amx said is pretty much spot on, some of the acting for the various characters was quite over the top in a stereotypical manner (Jenkins and some of the Russians cops spring to mind) It was also quite an advert for Audi, but the car was sexy as so I'll let it off.

I did really enjoy the film and believe if that had stuck to something more truer to the games (darker/stealth) it would have been quite cracking.

Worth a watch but more of a rental unless you go on an orange wednesday with someone or have one the cineworld unlimited cards.

Watched it today was basiclly Game == Film end of: I thought it got the mode of a game well; fasted paced action and had a bit of boob...what more would a geek want. No need for plot; lets be honest Hitman does not really need one...

I can't understand people saying it's a bad movie, it's not! It stays true to the game series, Olyphant is brilliant in the main role as I expected him to be (the walk was to a t!) and comfortably carried the film (much like Die Hard 4) and the story worked well.

It didn't over-indulge in explosions, which was nice (2 all film and 1 was the suitcase blowing), there was nothing out of context with the games (bar 47 talking a lot, but he had to, it's a film), the female lead didn't detract from the story or the character (he didn't kiss or sleep with her, nor did he turn into a pansy). The story was interesting, not basic, but not over-complicated. It didn't guide people by the hand through the history of Hitman which is a mistake other game-movies make.

The soundtrack was very good, the direction was great (none of that action movie shaky cam nonsense) and the characters were well depicted and clearly differentiated from each other.

All the people claiming it to be the worst film ever, I'd understand if you've only ever seen 2 films, but don't be such snobs, it's far from a bad film, infact, it's a very good film and for me, easily the best game to a movie production yet.

I saw this on Tuesday night with the gf.

I enjoyed it, but I couldn't help but walk out with a feeling of disappointment really. Yes, it was a good film, and true to the game series. The ending quite blatantly led onto a sequel.

A good watch, a nice way to blow away a few bored hours :)

I went and watched on Tuesday. I really liked it... Yes it could have been better but it was good enough to keep me entertained. Has been ages since I played this game and can't help feeling they missed a trick selling another along with the film although all games based on films usually tosh.

One thing I didn't understand about the film:

SPOILERS

Why did the 4 other hitmen at the train station start fighting each other? I couldn't understand how they were all in the same place at the same time.

£2 here (student, Orange Wednesday), I really enjoyed the film. The fight scenes were excellent, he was quite into his arm-breaking!

Russian Special Forces Hostage Situation Protocol:
1. Spy on kidnapper through keyhole.
2. Load shells unable to penetrate tables but ideally suited to destroy marble into attack helicopter.
3. Obliterate building with said helicopter from 5 meters away.
4. There was a table.
5. Fail.

Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really stupid. That said I thought it was alright. Just really, really, really, really stupid.

I just got back from the cinema and I enjoyed it.

I dont see why the movie is getting such bad reviews, it stays true to the game (except it lacks stealth) and Olyphant carried the role well.

good film, as people are saying, why are you all slating it when you havnt even seen it, the fight scenes are good, but as above, the helicopter shooting was a bit stupid
