HM Customs - Dover.

i had a friend get caught with a suitcase full of fags at Gatwick , she used to do a run once a month from Tenerife...they just asked her if she wanted to pay tax on them she said no and they took them.
better off going to Holland and bringing back 20000 pills :)

I looked on there, couldnt find it....link? :p

Only curious as a mate wants me to bring him 3000 cigs, and im tempted to bring back a crate of beer and a case of wines. +whatever randomly pointless electronic gadget i find! :p.

wouldnt bother with electronics and stuff , way to expensive with the crappy rate, its amazing how much room your limit will take up in your car as well, head to belgium for fags if u can its about 30 mins from Calais and much cheaper

Me and Brother coming back through Dover with people carrier full of beer

customs man

"Is this all for your own use gentleman"

Brother

"well we didn't get to look like this drinking diet coke"

he laughed and let us on our way :p

we drove through france, switzerland, italy and back again to the uk without getting checked once, not for passports or anything! :O

I got stopped at Swiss border customs because I was driving a (brand new at the time) Peugeot 1007 and the guards wanted to see the sliding doors :/

We once got 3 mexicans through dover customs. Then again, we had spread the limbs around the van quite well so they would have been hard to indent... to find.

You'd have a pretty hard time succeeding if you were trying to get your passport checked going through those countries, since they all abolished passport controls under the Schengen agreement in 1990. You can drive from Portugal to Estonia and from southern Italy to northern Norway without having your passport checked once--it's awesome.

It's only us and Ireland that are still fannies about intra-EU passport control.

Tobacco has a shelf life, so it's whether your personal use would exceed this. My dad used to work for Customs and some people would give amazing answers. Also, people bringing back suitcases of rolling tobacco that they were suspicious about would then be asked to roll one in front of them... and fail.

They can't, but they can deem it's not for personal use and seize it.

Exactly, and I believer that Customs & Excise have greater powers than the police, there's no arguing with them. If they want to seize it then they will, it's as simple as that.

If your car's stashed full of stuff, they'll take your car too :p

I hate the way people assume large quantities of stuff is not for personal use, I bought 10 litres of gbl for personal use which will last a lifetime, because it's cheaper to buy in bulk.

LOL. Don't even wanna know what you want a lifetime supply of GBL. Ha ha.
