Ordered a parcel from kn who use dpd much like our beloved OCUK do

All went well tracking details sent hour delivery time slot confirmed, then disaster had to go out and missed my parcel.

Thought it might be prudent to collect it from the depot and that's where it gets interesting.

Most couriers of you want to collect from the depot it's next day, dpd gave me the option of same evening.

So decided to wander down with my eldest in tow to collect my goodies.

Never have I experienced service like it, thoroughly helpful polite staff and as many freebies as you could wants.

Free tea/coffee

Free chocolate (kids certInly approve)

And the icing on the cake a couple of free vans

Yes I know cool starry bra etc but I was amazed at how above and beyond dpd go anyone who has experienced their industry competitors will attest to just how good they are. Shining example of how to do thinks right

^that.

I've had to pick up parcels from depots before (including DPD) and they are always consistently terrible. Absolutely shockingly terrible.

it's weird how DPD seem to have succeeded so well in a market packed with terrible companies such as Yodel.

Every experience I've had with DPD, including sending parcels abroad has been excellent - their 1 hour time frame notification is just a complete godsend and makes them my default for sending or receiving parcels.. I hope their current service stays as it is, because they're lightyears ahead.

How pleasant I thought this was going to be a rant :D

My local DPD guy (Paul) is awesome, very friendly, always arrives within his allotted time slot and I can't find a bad word to say about him or the DPD service.

:)

They are the best delivery company by a mile in my opinion and it has affected where I purchase items from, if a company doesn't offer DPD I'll be less inclined to order from them.

DPD are simply unbeatable up here. When I use prime it's mostly DPD but sometimes it's amazon logistics and they are utterly trash.

Yes. DPD are always my default when I have the option. When ever I order my pet foods stuff from zooplus I have the option of dhl or DPD. And I'll never choose dhl.

Now Asendia… oh Jesus  two weeks to deliver from the UK to Ireland. That's if it even makes it. makes me never want to use Amazon ever again.

DPD have been great whenever I've dealt with them. Local driver always arrives at given time meaning your not stuck in the house all day awaiting a delivery that you know won't get there till at least 7pm (unless you go out for five minutes and then a 'we missed you' note will miraculously appear behind your door).

Glad to hear it - I've never had a bad experience with DPD either!

Would echo the comment that I'll actively look to see whether a company offers them as their default delivery provider :)

My local guy often turns up a minute or two early and we have a quick chat while he waits to be able to sign off the delivery bang on time! Stunning service.

Must be pretty tough for them to run a business like that when most people want to pay as little as possible for delivery. DPD have always been as mentioned above lightyears ahead of the others so far in my experience.

All the couriers call the local depot "Newcastle" when in fact they are always in the back end of Gateshead on a crumby industrial estate.

Where I live DPD are trash. I live in a gated complex and even if you inform them of the gate code they just take a picture of the closed gates and drive off.

Royal Mail, Yodel and Amazon Logistics all handle it like a boss.

If I want stuff from OcUK I have it shipped to a UPS access point.

EDIT: Oh forgot to mention that the depot was like 30 miles away and the one member of staff who appeared treated me like a disease. Got my GTX950 in the end though.
