Hmm dpd experience

I'm the opposite here at the moment...

Wasn't going to be in and I've been able to use a local dpd dropoff/pickup location before.

The website won't give me an option to have it delivered to the pickup point.

So I go online and ask them to deliver to a neighbor, only to get a sorry we missed you card and picture... if my front door!

try the site again, no option for pickup point still

Tried calling them....
Jesus wept is there ANY number on which you can actually speak to anyone?
All the ones I can find simply pickup int he number I'm calling from and advise my parcel is in transit, giving me the option to rearrange.

The depot is a right pain to get to as well :(

Seem decent to me, love the little tracking map / route planner.

Also like the ability to send a message to the courier to just leave it on doorstep if I know I am going to be back late, its super!

I've always liked DPD, TNT, and UKmail for their 1 hour delivery/collection slots and tracking, but recently had a parcel go missing with UKMail and 2 non-collections by DPD all in the same week. I wonder if it's just a coincidence that all were booked via parcels2go.

Yup I just tried that...

Please note: The driver will only be able to leave the parcel in a safe place if you are able to leave the calling card for him to collect.

Oh right yeah... I'll just nip home and put it outside for him

Well i would put that on the individual driver over the company. The company avoids the use of temp drivers and such when they can, they also hold their drivers to a stricter work ethic than others but all companies have some people that fall below par. If you find your local driver doing things they shouldn't, it is worth mentioning to the company (well, for DPD anyway, expect two fingers and colour language if it was yodel customer service you were dealing with :D)

I always go DPD if I have the option in the UK. Interlink seem to use their services too now from what I can tell. Having drop off shops in places like halfords is a huge time saver.

If I'm buying anything international I tend to go with UPS if available

The worst collection experience I've had is Fed Ex in Coventry, not even a service desk, I was just waiting in an office with a load of people on the phone and eventually somebody came in with the package.
