Holiday suggestions - ~£8k

I'd agree, I'm going back there next month for my anniversary (10 years since our last visit for our honeymoon). 10 nights all inclusive at the Sugar Beach Resort... The hotel is stunning and the beaches are amazing! The cost for me and the wife was just over 6k.

There are other options though and you could probably find somewhere within the 8k budget for yourself and the family.

Enjoy!

For the OP, I know it's only a small place but it is beautiful, has a "rain forrest", "volcanoes" and plenty of diversity. Also Creole is a good shout if already French speakers. I found it perfect for my teenager when we went, especially if they are keen on not going full Bear Grylls (which they never are :D).

Very true, it doesn't go as far as it used to.
You can easily spend £8k on a decent all inclusive in Europe for 4 adults, but if you go further afield where the cost of living is less then your money will go further.
Bali for example - £3.5k for flights, £2.5k for a 2 bedroom villa/airbnb. Then what you spend when you're there is up to you.

My holidays are now looking at the 3k price range give or take. That's solo!

And it's not even a rip off. It is the rate.
It does sound insane because you're hitting 300 pounds a day. Adding it up it it certainly feels like someone's creaming it along the way.

But really, it's very difficult to find it cheaper. Especially when packaged up it takes. So much hassle Out of it.

Sailing around the Greek islands or along the coast of Croatia.
Pretty close to the default plan which is an bareboat charter from Trogir in Croatia - a week as off grid as possible in the Kornati national park followed by a few days in an airbnb in Trogir to spend wandering around the old medieval town, people watching in cafes, that sort of thing.

I'll have a look at Mauritius - any personal recommendations for locations/hotels would be great
