Looks like the holiday thread died in the Covid section so moving to one here.

Post your holidays you booked / been on or advice on holidays.

------

As for myself looking for some advice where to go next places I have been to are Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Romania, Hungary, Turkey, France, Portugal, Ireland, Germany.

Got 2x 12 days off in June and July and looking to book up somewhere I do love a city break.

Also looking at hitting the Caribbean at some stage anyone done it on the cheap any advice? I mean I love the look of Antigua was looking at the Virgin holidays all inclusive but it will just be me on my tod.

Thailand is also on my list aswell as the Philippines as id love to head back to Asia still a lot for me to see and do out there.

Do love Portugal only been to the Algarve but it a beautiful place, would like to see Lisbon and Porto.

If you go to Lisbon, make sure to go to Sintra, it's very beautiful.

My mother is Portuguese, so I've been fortunate to see a number of places within the country (visiting family) .

However I can never be bothered to go anywhere else, due to not needing to pay for hotels.

Done Antigua (6 times now) and others, Antigua was nicest unless you are going to blow a huge amount. Doing it on the cheap though, ahem, Dom Rep? Cuba? Jamaica? Not sure I'd go on my own though unless you love sailing and go in April for the Antigua sailing week. You might even catch Shaggy in concert :-)

Can recommend Indian cities, specifically Mumbai or Pune for a cultural change of pace and a city break :D anywhere near Juhu beach for Mumbai, and definately the Taj Blue Diamond (old school British imperial style) in Pune (prefer the latter myself much more "relaxing").

Mauritius?

Chile (halbar espanol?)?

Madrid?

Vancouver?

St Paul/Minneapolis? (very hot that time of year)

Myself, so far, off to the space station that is The Palm Dubai. Go easy on me it's a trip booked with issues of 6 months ago in mind.

We've got 10 days in Turkey, Dalaman booked next month. Can't wait to get out the country again. Any recommendations from you guys in the Dalaman region would be appreicated if you've anything.

Then a week in a villa in Spain outside Valencia with some pals.

Looking at a potenital trip to Iceland towards the end of the year to if an offer comes up that looks decent :D

Bearing in mind Turkey and UAE are probably the only available destinations for a certain nation, perhaps a Russian phrase book? :D

Went to Dubai. A bit of a pain wearing a mask for the plane/airport and check in at Gatwick took an absolute age due to no one having their vaccine details ready. Inevitably the other half got ill, probably Covid.

With the cost abroad soaring, my enjoyment of travel diminishing and our second beach home nearly finalised, other than a bit of winter sun I doubt I’ll be going abroad for a while.

Antigua > St Lucia so you will love it I am sure. Can I ask where you are staying?

Antigua is next on my to do list. St Lucia was stunning, but it was one hell of a transfer. The helicopter across the island was fine, the taxi ride back not so much.

Yeah the roads there are quite something. Antigua is slightly better (there is even one road they'll claim you can do 80ish on for a burst). Be prepared for every cab driver in Antigua to have some connection with Viv Richards :D

Mauritius?

Vancouver?

Maritius coming with 2k all inclusive on Virgin for 7 nights looks rather nice, kind of the budget I would pay instead of the £3k-£6k plus I have seen on other places

Vancouver always been on my list 5 years ago I made decision to travel Asia instead of going to Canada, but Vancouver is expensive but id love to do some hiking around there.

Mauritius is lovely, just remember the seasons are inverse there so our summer = their winter. Not a bad winter though! Lots to do there especially if you like ahem, watersports. Culturally and environmentally it's very diverse and very well maintained (esp. roads if you ignore the massive ditches on either side)- like an if the EU did a Carribean Island without the jetlag (looking at you Gaudaloupe and Aruba).

Re Vancouver, some might say it's a little bit of Asia anyway (ahem Hongcouver) :D

Either way, what a great way to spend your spare time, searching the globe for somewhere to go!
