Holidays 2022

I drove in St Lucia.

The journey from Castries to the Soufriere was a Hellishly winding road for the most part. And some real bad potholes in a lot of places.

2 hours of the most winding, changing elevation road with holes everywhere I’ve never even come close to anywhere else. I don’t even get travel sick, but it pushed even my limit. That’s without factoring in the several road accidents that had just happened and literally no road rules. That said, the helicopter didn’t feel any safer. Absolute paradise, but a shorter transfer needed next time.

my holidays are my weekly days off ,Polzeath mainly but my work holidays i tend to go up to my folks in Yorkshire ,no plans on going abroad

Ive been in taxi for hours in Indonesia and Vietnam definitely see some sights and fair few road accidents, it just the norm out there.

An ex girlfriend in Ho Chi Minh used to take me around on her scooter once you learn to cross the road in Vietnam you can do it anywhere its madness :D

Used to love the things id see carried on bikes some good memories for sure.

Going to Italy next month. Flying into Venice and out of Florence. Looking forward to eating lots in Bolonga.

Despite the cost, I can recommend getting a private water taxi from Venice Airport to your hotel. Cost, about 110/120EUR but worth every cent especially if your hotel has a mooring as an entrance.

Apologies, I'm very chatty tonight.

Florence is a beautiful city The Duomo (cathedral) made my jaw drop as I turned the corner walking from the station on a day trip from Rome.

Never been to Venice but the high speed train was 3 hours 30 from Rome I opted for Florence.

So much to see and do in Italy definintely a top country.

A few city breaks in Europe planned 4 in total so far.
Running out of Europe.... Dunno where next
USA maybe...? Huge Japan trip, so expensive....

No idea yet, I don't usually plan anything until the summer, I want to go back to Asia but Japan still got it's door shut. Will see how it plays out, might go to Canada or Seattle as an alternative, will see.

Looking at booking a week in the Atlantis at Nassau in the summer

Heard some mixed reviews but I think the kids (and me) will love the water park

In October, I go to the back-end fairgrounds such as Nottingham and Hull. Also Alton Towers theme park. So I take half a month off work for that. Other parts of the year, I just do day trips e.g. Harry Potter Tour then book half-weeks off to see friends or have a friend stopping over at mine.

Last time I was abroad was October 2018, which was for Disneyland Paris.

For those who get normal bank holidays, don't forget we get an extra one this year! It's for the Queen's 70th Jubilee and they've tacked it next to the Whitsun bank holiday and pushed it back by a week to the first week of June instead of the last week of May.

I’d say the cost of the water taxi is prohibitive, let alone the cost of a hotel with a mooring! Nice idea though.

I wanted to go to Greece, but she won and we’re going to Italy. Wish I researched hotel prices first, it’s insane how expensive it is. I then looked at Greece, cheap as chips. Bah.

Mallorca in May for the first family holiday since 2019.

Possibly a chaps trip to Spain in September, which got cancelled back in 2020. I'm really hoping that comes off- even though I'll have to organise, as my mates are useless...
