holy **** - AMD hury up! (KB prices)

Sometimes the difference between US and UK prices for higher end gear would pay for a return flight to the US.

worth making friends in the US ;)

There's no chance we are getting a 470 in an APU.
We are not even at 7850 performance.

*shrugs* maybe not but they have thermal advantages with hbm and the slides estimated its size from 800 to 1000 shaders. Not really what I'm interested in as you can see from the other post in this thread but the APU's will be the 2 and 4 core cheaper family for the lower end.

Is it that far fetched? The GPU section in the PS4 Pro's APU is about a 470 to 480 (cut down) equivalent. It benefits from the GDDR5 bandwith that you wouldn't get with DDR4.

Would it be that hard for AMD to basically engineer an equivalent chip with the 2 Jaguar modules taken out and some Ryzen cores thrown in.

I wouldnt be terribly surprised to see such a chip in the upcoming Xbox Scorpio. Why not a SFF desktop PC?

The only thing that is concerning me is if Ryzen launches around March, that's when we are supposed to trigger Article 50, which is more than likely going to spook our currency market even further and drop our £ value even more.

If it drops to £1=$1 or even worse, then any saving made by cheaper AMD prices will be offset :(

For the same reasons we don't have APUs with xbox one or ps4 performance in them now.

It makes me wonder why AMD can't use sideport memory like they used to,a few years ago??

Surely even 1GB of GDDR5 on the motherboard would help?? Or are the newer designs not compatible with doing this anymore.

No point, GPU Memory is moving on-die, the days of PCB Memory IC's are numberd, higher end Zen-Vega APU's will have HBM, Navi APU's and GPU's; L4 cache style

So take a fat wad of £20's down your local high street and you'll find a dozen places where you can convert them to a fat wad of $20's. Lots of places will buy back without further fees, within limits.

tl;dr: hedge! ;)
