Homefront

I had this on a pre-order initially but I'm having way too much fun with Killzone 3, I'll definitely end up buying this but not on day 1.

I've just pre-ordered this. Found a site where it's £32.85.
Was debating this or Crysis 2 and I went for this as I think crysis 2 MP will get boring very quickly.

The Crysis 2 MP demo was quite fun I thought. Isn't there a single/multiplayer demo coming out for Homefront?

Hope they do a multi-player demo.
Always a good sign that they think they have a good game if they do a MP Demo.

No comment on Single Player which should be decent given the storyline which can be interesting if done well.

But they have let the MP side of things down imo by going with 32 player max... 16 v 16 and that includes people having vehicles.

I mean this is meant to be a large scale occupation of the USA by a Korean Army of 200m+... the US population is god knows what million at that time, and yet the scale of the MP battles are tiny and that takes away the immersion factor for me.

Some games do suit smaller MP battles, but this just should be on the MAG scale... at least 64 v 64 if not 128+ ... theres no excuse to not do it and its a shame that Homefront probably set on top of a decent story which they have built up nicely... is turned into a small skirmish'esque scenario.

For that reason, im out.

Right I had made peace with the fact that I won't be getting this on Day 1 but after watching another trailer I NEED this game on Day 1, can't really afford it until April though. 1 of you lads are going to have to buy me it, my birthday is in October so you's can call it an early birthday present. Don't all volunteer at once!

I still very much want this. Being an xbox only player, 16v16 games are a new concept for me, the most I can remember previously was COD3 at 12v12 and that was a complete laggy mess most of the time. Dedicated servers is, afaik, a first for the 360.

Hmm, well that's dampened some of my excitement for the game.I will pick this up but not on release day and not at full price if the campaign is only 5 hours long.

I think this is something people are going to have to get used to. I was reading in a gaming mag this month that they (MS) Know from the achievement system that very few people bother finishing games over 6 or 7 hours long.

They know from loooking at the data how when people give up with the length of games. This was used to explain why so many games are shorter these days. Not worth putting so much effort into a long game if people get bored or don't finish it. Better to leave them wanting more.

I like about 8-10 hours myself from a shooter.

Was originally going to get this for PC but now I'm getting this for console as I won't be able to sell my PC copy on if I don't like it. Pre-ordered at Bee.com for £30. Unless it's a total travesty I should be able to get at least half my money back and spend it on LA Noire :)
