Do you want to use the SSD as a cache for the HDD?
Intel Smart Response, or windows storage spaces tiered storage.
The intel option limits you to 64gb cache, but that's fine in your case. The Windows option requires you to configure it on Server 2012, but it will then operate fine on Windows 8.1/10.

I've done it to a non system drive before, it should be fine. This was on my laptop, where I had a 256GB mSATA SSD with a 192GB boot partition and 64GB as cache for my 2TB HDD.
I didn't notice the difference and eventually put it back to a 256GB boot partition, but ymmv.
