so guys whats a good hoover? for a 4 bed house, no idea what style is best.

any advice is welcome

Well we have a Dyson upright and I thought it was pretty good.

Then we got a Miele Cat and Dog (2200w) thing from my Grandmother. It's an absolute beast.

Much better than anything else I've used.

When I looked into it a while ago the conciousness was either a Henry or Miele cat and dog. Henry's are awesome, there's a reason nearly every trades person/cleaner use one.

kirby legend II (circa 25 years old) and a henry (circa 6 years old) here, both very good, but you can tell when the kirby's been used.

Using a Dyson V6 Total Clean and prefer it to my 3 year old Vax Upright, due to it being light and good on tile or carpets and the real ease of doing the stairs.

The battery charge only lasts 16 minutes, although I can do the kitchen, two living rooms, and sofas without it running out. Upstairs takes about the same time including the stairs.

Dyson outlet on eBay sells refurbished ones with one year warranty, although when I registered it online it gave the full two year warranty you get with a brand new one.

For those recommending the Miele Cat and Dog, is this based on a pet household? Just wondering what its like for normal hoovering as I don't have any pets.

Agreed, got a refurbished Dyson DC28c cylinder vacuum cleaner from their eBay shop for 50% RRP, and when it came to the guarantee, it gave me 5 years when I registered rather than the 1 year stated on their ebay shop. Good little vacuum cleaner and it's holding up far better than the sub-£50 Tesco jobs which lasted about 8-12 months each before losing suction.

I've never owned a Hoover, though, so I can't make any suggestions for the OP.
