hoover recomendations

my friend has a dyson v6 animal wireless one and i find it a crap vacum and thats meant to be one of the good ones so i figure corded is likley best

You're always able to get more power with a corded one. I've heard mixed reviews about the Dyson ones - i'm really not sold on them. I bought a Vax cordless which to be honest is very good, more than adequate for my 3 bed house with two cats, but yeah it's not going to be the ultimate. Pros and cons.

tempted to just get a cleaner :Pb and a roomba

Had various Dysons for years but felt they lost their way with the rollerball design. Read a few (well a lot) of reviews on the John Lewis website for Sebo and decided to give one a try. Glad I did, excellent machine and wouldn't go back to a Dyson again.

For those recommending the Miele Cat and Dog, is this based on a pet household? Just wondering what its like for normal hoovering as I don't have any pets.

Another vote for the Miele cat and dog here and I own neither a cat nor a dog.

The cat and dog bit purely means it comes with the turbo that is rebranded as cat and dog. If you have carpet you will want the turbo head regardless of pet hair.

I am very anti bagless cleaners, having owned numerous and spent far too much time cleaning filters and trying to get the dirt out that wedges inside. By the very nature of a bagged cleaner the bag does 99% of the filtering meaning they are far far cleaner to use. The miele also compacts the dirt very well meaning we only get through a bag every 2-3 months in a 3 bedroom house.
