HOPEFULLY LESS THAN A YEAR WAIT: New 2018 (MY18) S550.2 Mustang V8 10-speed ordered

So its a vast improvement over the 13.1-13.3s@107mph the stock MY15 A6 cars ran.
0-100mph was 8.8s and 0-60 under 4s, so really not bad figures at all for a RWD car.
Can see a simple tune making some nice improvements on those already quick times, seems Ford extracted a lot more performance with the new engine and new gearbox.

Seeing that digital dash in action towards end of the video has me excited, it looks amazing, so much fun and those shift lights. This car is just jam packed with really cool stuff, the old one at 35k was amazing value, but I think even if this if its around 45k is still amazing value as your getting so much more for your money this time round and looks like Ford have hugely under rated the engine power.
what's wrong with a traditional dash with good old fashioned race tacos/ oil pressure etc............ it's just a gimmick

Nowt wrong with traditional, some people dig the old fashioned, but digital has more functionality and improvements. Same reason we all upgrade our PCs

it doesn't make the car handle any better, improve performance etc ! .................. but a better Graphics card/Mobo/ Oled tv is needed if you're a gamer........it's essential.

A comfy car seat doesn't improve performance, neither does air con, but these things improve the driving experience. You can't say a digital dash doesn't. It's like going from an old Nokia to a new smartphone. It's just modern.
yea but all cars have had this for years and yes it improves your driving experience, but the digital dash doesn't..................just like the Smartphone that isn't needed either......... because all it is, is an intrusive addiction in your life, that's seriously ruining the quality of your life as well !

Well actually it does improve performance, as the active exhaust, auto shifter patterns, steering feel, magneride (if fitted), and plenty of other functions that improve the feel and performance of the car directly are all adjusted through the digital dash, so without the dash you cannot adjust all those functions, and would have a pretty dull bland car.
As for value for money, as I understand it Gibbo spent close to £20k in upgrading his 2016, so 35k buy price 20k added that's a 55k car.
Now a car that is possibly only 10k more to buy than the 2016, and around 10k less than what he spent on the last one, will have more power, possibly slightly better handling, and certainly a lot more performance and a huge amount of grin factor, and that is straight out of the box no mods needed.
That's mega value for money in my book.
Others get it, you don't Mal X, but I like cool stuff like that, I once owned a Honda Prelude and S2000 which too had pretty cool dashes for their time. Yes classic dashes are timeless, but I like the digital dashes that are coming into modern cars they seem to work very well and the customisation is great as you can customise your car to you and it can also perform several additional functions.
Your traditional mobile to smart phone is a stupid comment. Smart phone is amazing thing, now on business trips I no longer need a laptop, I just use my phone to answer emails, check the webshop, forums etc. On a tradition phone all I could do was call/text, I needed a laptop to enjoy the internet or do my work. Technology improvements are nice. Ford feel the same as that digital dash is standard fitment on all export models, only the US cars get the option of regular dash.
Also one guy made a great comment, I spent a lot of money modifying the MY15 due to its weaknesses and it was still not a hugely fast car, was by no means slow but it was not rapid either. The new car with the right options is a quicker car and an even nicer place to be with lots of cool stuff to entertain the owner with when sitting in a traffic jam. When commuting in the Golf I find it so damn boring its untrue, the only time I can enjoy it is when I can exploit its performance and even then its quite dull as the performance is too accessible too easy. The Mustang is fun when stationary, 30mph or 130mph, no matter what your doing, how fast your going they are so much fun and the MY18 won't need so much spent tweaking.
I've summarised my mods so far as:
- K&N panel filter and stock air box mods: £0 as kept the filter from my last one but otherwise £50
- Tune: Kept all my stuff and I sent a lot of customers to them, so my next tune is free: £0 otherwise £500
- Ford GT 350 lowering springs for magneride: £300
- Wheels: £1500
- Shelby 350 rear wing: £400
- Ford PP2 or Shelby splitter: £400
- Bonnet stripe: £100
- New hood maybe: £1000
- Steeda rear top mounts: £200
So its a lot less, the big expense shall be if I got GT 350 R brakes (£4000), GT 350 rear seat delete (£1000) and exhaust headers (£1500).
But until I have the car I cannot decide, the MY18 performance is higher than expected so most mods will probably be just to modify the aesthetics/looks to my liking and to make it a little more unique.

except many use the Smart Phone in the street, rather than talking to people..... which we once did, do you remember that ?.......... many also use it rather than working, i.e the Nurses at work, they get out their Smart Phones as soon as they can.........ALL DAY LONG, rather than keeping an eye on their patients....most dont use it for business do they, they're addicted to it.... they just waste their lives during the day on twitter or Youtube etc, rather than noticing life that's going on around them........... so no my comments aren't stupid they're valid !
how long will it be before you're bored of this car too, because i give you less than a year.......finally, you cant really make your Mustang unique can you, because it's a Ford and there are so many of them for sale right now.....it's boring to look at them all.
