Hose pipe ban?

Can't be far off given how little rain we have had. Am watering the garden like crazy at the moment. Will have to switch to buckets if this comes into effect.

On that topic, what happens to all the car washes? Do they shut down? Don't think there were as many last time we had a ban.

I think it rather unlikely this year. Reservoirs are doing OK... plus water companies don't like having to announce bans, never mind enforce them.
So just do what everyone else does - Keep on ignoring it, until the water dries up and then complain...

Businesses are normally exempt from hose pipe bans.

Not every business - Some businesses that use hosepipes in the course of their primary service (landscaping, turfing, car-washes, etc) MAY be exempted, at the discretion of the local water company... But that's it. Everyone else, commercial and domestic, is usually subject to the fullest extent of the ban.
