Doh, didn't realise it was for one person, in which case 4-6 bird's eyes would probably be a bit too much, in some cases they approach Habanero's in terms of hotness (although they are smaller). Would be better if we knew what variety they were though.
As you have two anyway, I'd chuck 'em both in. I don't tend to bother doing anything special with them unless they are going on the barbeque - just chop them as fine as possible, and mix them in, seeds and all. As mentioned earlier, the placenta is actually the hottest part of the chilli - the flesh itself doesn't tend to be that hot really.
If you find it too hot, milk is good as mentioned (but may spoil your meal!), sour cream works really well too and can be a nice addition.
