Hot Hatchbacks..

My 306 Rallye was amazing, had all new OEM suspension fitted so it handled as new. Best car I'll ever own for driving pleasure I think.

I had a 306 Gti 6 prior to it which had old suspension and it just wasn't the same car, suffered understeer and didn't feel as tight.

Both cars struggled on the road day to day with the lack of power and short gearbox. Overtaking people you had give it some! Great fun on the track or quiet roads.

The Mk1 106 Rally was an epic little thing, very hardcore. I remember taking one of those and the 106XSi on a test drive from Tewkesbury Peugeot back in the day and getting reported by 3 different people. Both cars were branded with the dealerships details and there were some great little roads around there and one traffic island with a petrol station on it. Those who know the area (just down from the military storage camp) and that island was the PERFECT place to get the things sideways and out of shape and to test the ultimate grip. However it was a busy little service station and seems a few people took umbrage with my antics that day and made a call to the dealership!

Ah good times.

I always turn off start/stop, it's just annoying and if I wanted to 5 pence on a long journey I would have bought diesel :p

The ladies love a clean tip.

Not as much as this...

Hot hatches are good....but.....

It has to be said I've never had a car close to this on the minge magnet scale. I'm happily married so it's wasted on me, but it seems to have an effect on women on the street (not that sort) and in other cars the like of which I have never seen.

I reckon it is the great choice of colour :D

If we are doing photos.

Bit of traffic.

Committed! Trying to keep the Clio behind me but it was a little bit quicker.

Sold it when I moved to Australia to some young lad who then wrote it off shortly after. :(

I normally turn stop start off because the car is either cold and I want it to carry on warming up at lights or its hot outside and the air con stops when the engine does.

For me the estate loses it's appeal a bit. I think the Golf R looks a bit of a pig and though the ST looks better in that pic, I think the extra length look removes some of the appeal for me. So I have made a decision, you are not a hot hatch, leave and get out of my thread with your fast Amazon delivery vehicles!

10 months now since I bought my C30 T5, it is much faster than my old Yaris SR, I am still not confident how I can handle all that power still on country roads and to be honest, half the miles are done on motorway so I prefer these days something that can do that too which I found the C30 being more suited for, than say, compared to a smaller Polo.

How much power do these things have? Is it far off the 400hp Polestar?

Stock is 227.

The 400bhp 4WD Polestar never made it to production, I think you are thinking of the one Clarkson drove. You can get a Polestar remap which gives it another 30bhp for about £800. I've seen some people on Volvo forums upgrading exhaust and intake can take it to about 300bhp.
