***Hot Sauce Thread! Cor, wehey missus! Oh wait, I mean for food...***

I used some of my Blair's Jersey Death last night. I hadn't had any in a while and I popped a bit more than I should onto my dinner.

I made a (much) more tame version of Glaucus's insanity burger the other night and it tore my guts out the morning after. Absolutely delicious though, quite hot and left me burning, but not ott.

250g lean steak mince
1 tbsp dry breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Approx 1-2 tsp insanity sauce

This is the first time I've had a hot sauce from capsicum extract. I can take my chilli heat but this is a strange different experience. You get the burn in the mouth but it goes all round the inside of your mouth spreads all over the outside of your lips and the bottom of your nose. Most strange. I liked it until the morning where there was fire in the hole / that Johnny Cash song / rumble in the jungle / etc etc you get the idea :p

This seems a suitable thread to point out the use of colpermin (peppermint oil capsules) for use in fighting the morning after "gut wrenching" that things like this can cause. They make such a huge difference...

In regards to actual sauces I personally don't like the majority of the 'insanity' sauces as they often lack in flavour. I prefer to use lots of nagas, scotch bonnets, etc. Going crazy with chipotle is good too. I do quite like thai hot sauce for adding an intense chilli and garlic kick to foods though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sriracha_sauce

I stir fried some chicken, mushrooms and onions with a dollop of the Mad dog chipotle BBQ sauce, was awesome, the chicken when really sticky and had a strong mexican taste. Served with some basmati on the side.
