Hot Sauce.?

Got a few jars of that when I was in New Orleans earlier in the year. Awesome stuff :)
 
Without doubt one of the hottest sauces with flavour is blairs ulta death, it brings most folk to their knees

Though mad dog 357 special reserve is meant to be hotter, it also lacks flavour

A friend at work did introduce me to a good one. It's in a small dropper bottle, comes out like tar and is reportedly 14 million units, anyway put a very tiny drop on my tongue and boy jove that was hot

Scary thing was after mopping my brow some must have got on my eyes, took a good 30 minutes with a wet towel for it to back off so i could open my eyes. Strange thing was i used the hand that didn't go anywhere near it, so it's seriously strong as im very experienced with such sauces

Anyway id love to get my hands on the stuff, but he says it's produced on a farm up along. I hope some of you will know of it.

It was a good heat, didn't go ballistic just kept on climbing which i loved, blairs sting then all hell breaks loose this was much hotter but nicer imo

I had some Mad Dog 357 the other weekend at the Brighton Chilli Festival and yes, I like my hot food but this was ridiculous!

My staple hot sauce is usually Encona stuff.
 
Is it weird i find nothing hot?

Was at a mates the other week playing drinking games and dares n stuff, one dare was to eat a whole hot chilli, my mates barely managed a bite and were screaming like little girls, i must have had 4 or 5 without any effect

Not weird at all, tolerance varies from person to person and can also be acquired with practice.

it couldnt have been the really hot sauces people have mentioned in this thread tbh.
 
At the moment I have got Louisiana hot pepper sauce, not overly hot but it has a good taste to it. but I tell you this as a fact:
Tabasco Chipottle sauce IS the greatest hot sauce known to man. it has a nice smoky but hot taste to it. The only problem is, it doesn't seem to be available in the UK!!

That 357 stuff is bad, like I said a bloke he is a chef and he said he could handle it, did 2 teas spoons for £15 and no liquid for 5 minutes, He said after he would not do it for £1000, he was sick and he said it burnt him on the way up :eek:

someone had some on come dine with me the other week. he warned them but no one listened. was hilarious tv to be fair
 
I've got a selection of hot sauces I've picked up from various sites.

My hottest is Biohazard at 6.4 million SHU. A drop of this reduced my friend to a gibbering wreck, and a rather amusing video on Facebook. Be warned, cooking with this will most likely lead to you needing to evacuate the kitchen / house in general. I have to wear a mask while using drops of it in cooking.

The one I use most regularly is Dave's insanity sauce. I stick it on all sorts from risotto to pizza.

I actually quite like Nando's XX Hot sauce, it's got a nice flavour to it rather than just pure heat.

Encona is nice to cook with too.

Either Aldi or Lidl do an absolutely roasting hot peri-peri sauce, its in a wee yellow bottle, compared to the nandos Extra extra hot its unbelievably roasting, its great :)
 
On the topic of hot sauces, is there anywhere to get something which you can get a bit more lavish with. For example I like the hot chilli sauce as subway (even if it could do with being a bit hotter) but you can use it as you would tomato sauce. They also have similar things when you get take-away nachos etc at festivals, I had a chilli sauce at SW4 from the nacho stand and it blew my head off but was a similar sort of style! This was also off my face so I'd dread to think of my sober reaction :D
