Is it possible? You don't get the default option of being able to choose a .com address because it detects where you are from. The thing is I really want a .com address, is the only way around this to get a friend from america to sign up for me, and give me the details?

I have one from waaaaaay back when... and no, you can't have it.

Psyche! :D:p

Edit: I dont see the problem with getting a US mate to do it anyway...

I just put in my address as beverley hills 90210 about 10 years ago :)

The simplest ways would be either to get a mate in the US to do it or use a US proxy service as suggested. I'm also a .com'mer but that is from way back in the day, 9-10 years ago I think.

How the hell did I manage to get my live.com adress last year then? I didn't do any faffing about with proxies.

Hangon I remember now; it was that javascript injection malarky.

Why would you want .com?

Probably some stigma from using .com back in the day. I have to say hotmail.co.uk does seem like a novice e-mail address to me (even though it's no different to any other address in reality).

Pah, your not cool unless youe an @msn.com'er !:p

Just use a US proxy, there are plenty of free legal ones you can use, that's how I got another @hotmail.com address last year. :)

Just use a US address like the apple store in NY to sign up on the website. that's what I did to get my US xbox live account.
