hotmail.com email address when you are from the UK

I signed up about 2 weeks ago and got a .com. Annoying as I wanted a .uk really. It's my third active hotmail account thogh, the other two have been opened a long time and are both uk's, wonder if that makes a difference. :confused:

Managed to get a live.co.uk addy with my first name before anyone managed to whip it up, not often you can find an email like that :)

But it was purely to sit on it, I don't use it.

Regardless of the address I enter, I only get two options, live.co.uk or hotmail.co.uk

Regarding the proxies, can anyone suggest a good free proxy that allows https? There are countless normal ones, but when it comes to signing up for an account somewhere, those proxies don't work, especially for hotmail, where it reverts to the .co.uk address options again.

I have both, and signed up for the .co.uk one so early I have my first name @ hotmail .co.uk, no last name, no numbers.

You can alter the URL to get a .com one. I've got a live.ca one now, it's the shortest one I could get with my initials before the @. :)

I've got a .com one from back in the days of dialup. hotmail.com people are better people :p

The hack everyone was using before was the following:

Go here and selecting "create a windows live address" and sticking the below javascript in the address bar.

javascript: var p = 'live.'; var ds = new Array('com', 'cn', 'fr', 'it', 'nl', 'com.au', 'be', 'de', 'us'); for (var i = 0; i < ds.length; i ++){document.getElementById('idomain').options = new Option(p + ds, p + ds)} alert('domains added');

Also I just went here and it's letting me pick hotmail.com.
