Dont know about you guys but I do after all if you record from the absolute begining the firs few frames will always be there even after you tape over it as most vcrs/camcorders dont rewind all the way back..

I always press play on blank tapes. For some reason I can't trust them to be at the start so I press PLAY and then leave my finger on the REWIND button.
I always did the same with blank video tapes but I've got 4 hard drive recorders in the house now.

In the past I have loaned camcorders out to friends and I know they're going to record their bedroom activities. I always warn them to make sure they record over what they've done.
Three times I've had my camcorder back and they've left some of the scenes on
