How are the reference GTX680?

Not really if there is a big price difference, the 680's are all overpriced in my opinion ;)

Evga has a good warranty if you are concerned about that, it also looks nicer again if your into that sort of thing, and now I realise overclocking them is a total waste of time the extra power phase is incidental.

You have all you need to know to make the choice ;)

edit, all reference 680's get too hot because the stupid idiots prefer the fans "silent" and not increasing until 80c but that's why they run at 85c.. which is far to hot for electronics ! and the like loosing money on warranty claims

Both mine are reference and they both idle at 30 degrees and are really quiet. They never go over 65 degrees although I do have an aggressive fan profile after 50 degrees but they're still not too loud.

Yep. Cooler on reference 680's is OK but it's a cool card anyway so never needs to get loud.
 
If the reference cooler is much better on the 680 then the 670 and with the custom cooled 670's starting at £330 and a reference 680 only £348, which would you go for now?

Your always guaranteed a better card with the top model, sure if you get a good clocker the lower card will match it most times but when there is not a big price difference there is no competition really ;)

Sorry Jakus but this is wrong. I had a EVGA reference which smashed up most of the 680s. The fancy coolers are the only difference and certain elements of the PCB/BIOS. In terms of the 680s, it is about keeping the card cool and if you are that worried, put it under water. The only cards for the 680s that stand out as better are the lightnings and the classifieds.

Ah, we are comparing a GTX680 to custom GTX670 and I'm saying your better off with the top model (as in top of the range 680>670) if the prices are now close ! when a custom 670 was £100 less than a reference 680 the decision was much harder.

I think lightnings and Classifieds are bit beyond budget.
