How bad is your hearing?

That was a shock, I thought I had quite good higher range hearing but I couldn't honestly say I could hear anything about 15 (35 years young). I am hyper-sensitive to low level noise though, it really triggers premature grumpy old man syndrome in me.

Lmao I cant believe some of you cant hear above 15, I got refused entry to the army due to my hearing record, I can **** 15, sigh, like I said I had to deal with these tests and spent 10 years learning them and having to knock when the I heard the tone, they are all the same to me and I have spent many a nights in front of huge speakers in nightclubs. It was weird being tested and made me focus more on hearing, it most of done its jobs but it was the pitch I could not detect.

Spider sense etc. :D

I can't hear anything after 19kHz

Which I thought was quite surprising given that A) I'm 24 and B) I've been in bands since I was 16 and have very mild tinnitus.

EDIT: This is through my rubbish laptop speakers...

Also, I didn't notice a difference in volume until 19kHz...

You shouldn't be maxing the volume to hear it, as it'll likely introduce harmonics/distortion and that could be mistaken for being the sound when it's not.

normal headphone volume not loud. could hear 15 fine but nothing at all after that, i'm 40.

just a thought, maybe people not hearing anything past 10-12 might not have speakers able to do it?

good point, apparently the frequency range of my little 2.1 is only 50hz-13khz so that would explain why i can hear 12khz but not 14khz and above..
