how bad is your mpg commuting to work?

About 30mpg (varies in the range of 27.5-32.5).

1st few miles in a city, pretty steady moving tho, 10 miles or so overall.

Could probably make 35mpg if I wasn't such a hooligan on the sub B road section.

Ok, re: my previous post, Pinarello aside I usually get about 38-41mpg from the Vec 3.0.

The RSV?. No idea. 20 litre tank and if I'm ragging the thing the low fuel light pops on at about 110 miles on the tripmeter which is pretty normal for these bikes. Large capacity V-Twins like drinking fuel which isn't an issue, the noise and power more than compensates for it. :D

Short shifting and generally flouncing around on it will yield @55-60mpg though. ;)

Mine is only so low because I was in BANZAI! mode all last week. I would not be impressed with 17MPG on a motorway haul! :p

Out of interest, what kind of roads NightShadow?

All 30mph limits, light traffic in the morning and heavy traffic in the evening. On an entirely motorway/A road run I could probably squeeze 24-25MPG out of it! I tend to not worry about petrol and just fill up when it needs it, ignorance is bliss!

I do about 5 miles through town to work.. There is usually a clear run due to the time I start and I get 30-32mpg. On the way back however is manic... anything from 12 to 25mpg! lol! 1.8 20vt Golf.

Anything between 15-23mpg - just depends on my driving. It's usually lower on the way home as there's more traffic.

Loads of speed bumps so have to slow right down as I can't straddle as I scrape the bottom! Although in the morning it's any time between 630-650am so the traffic isn't too bad.

15 mpg on my way to work and about 14 back from work ( road tends to be empty at 10-11pm so I floor it all the way home really, occasionally have a quick traffic light GP with some colleagues from work ).

I dont think I have ever read a post about your driving that doesnt fill me with dread.

14mpg on an empty road in a 4 cylinder NASP Volvo?

Why not call the hospital and make reservations, dont you only have like 3 months experience?

Update.

Reset mpg and average speed for the drive home from B'ham central to South West B'ham.

39mpg and average speed 26mph.
