how bad is your mpg commuting to work?

I dont think I have ever read a post about your driving that doesnt fill me with dread.

14mpg on an empty road in a 4 cylinder NASP Volvo?

Why not call the hospital and make reservations, dont you only have like 3 months experience?

It's a straight road with lights, start stop start stop start stop with each of the starts being quick... I don't see how I'm supposed to crash on a straight empty road .

i just put in 61.8 litres into my 62l tank (i had 80km remaining apparently..)

anyway, it's been mainly town driving in rush hour and it's the worst fuel economy i've had since i bought it 16 months ago - 36mpg!
i usually get a shade under 600 miles to a tank. didn't even reach 500 this month :(

the haldex really does make a difference

Averaging 28mpg from my 2.3 turbo.

14 miles each way, half of that is motorway.

That's with a fair amount of right foot too.

Either I'm bad at maths and the MPG calculator is broken or my car has something seriously wrong... I do 14 miles a day which costs me £20 a week! According to the MPG calculator thats 17MPG :p

Currently driving my sisters Dturbo 306 and the fuel guage has barely moved in days! :(

i think it's 62l incl. reserve, unless i'm a retard.
55 l. Reserve of 7 l.
62 l. (vehicles with four-wheel drive)
i understand this as 55 (or 62), of which 7 is reserve
i could be wrong and it's 62 (or 69) though, although last time i ran it very low it was showing 10km or so and it didn't take over 60

having said that, the gauge has a habit of getting a bit erratic once it reaches the reserve (rising and falling randomly)
and being a diesel, i don't really want to run the risk of running out

Probably 20-22mpg.

3.5mile journey each way so no time to warm-up and solid traffic on the way back.

Beat's public transsport though and still works out cheaper :p

it could have done quarter a million miles, have a knacked 02 sensor and a leaky tank :p
Seriously though an 02 sensor thats faulty could knock 5mpg+ off your average pretty easily

according to the dispaly on the Civic, its doing anywhere from 52 to 60mpg and get around 520miles from a tank of diesel. SLowed down an awful lot in the last 18 months.

When i used to ride the VTR1000 to work, in winter i got 130miles from 16ltr tank, in summer it dropped to around 85-90miles from 16ltrs.
48mm carbs on a v-twin drink juice like a wino with a bottle of MD20:20 ;)

Since its started raining and its cooler I've dropped to 68mpg, but thats through B roads as the crow flies pretty much.

Usually 75mpg that route and can push 80mpg if I go the longer route.
