How Big can our 06 scores get?

Run it at proper settings (people spending £1000 on gfx hardware are NOT going to be playing games at 1280x1024 0xAA) and you will likely see more of a difference. i.e. at 1920x1200 8xAA 16xAF and above you will likely see a fair difference between a GTS512 and 3x8800u in Tri-SLI.

No matter what difference it means crap all compared to games.
 
Since i got my 24" monitor ive run everything at 1920x1200 and run all game and CP settings at max with 16xAF and AA set to application controlled. Havnt played Crisis and the most demanding games i currently play (COH OF, DIRT, COD4, MTW2) run fine.
So i spose im happy with my current hardware but i am bursting to get 4 gig of Ram.

Go for it! I did a while back, really nice to have that extra bit, I'm wanting 8GB now though :( (thinking about getting these Click! :rolleyes: :D)

The dilema is that im away at the end of March and not back to blighty till Nov. I do this every 2 years and just buy a new rig when i get back and hand down the current one, will DDR3 be desirable by then or will 4gig kits be reasonably priced. I know its only £75 but the missus doesnt need 4gb of ramto play Sherlock Holmes or Myst while im away.
Aaaaagh.

Back on topic though, 06 will probably go the same way as 01 03 05 went, will all depend on the speed at which newer and faster hardware is developed.

The earlier versions were far less CPU dependant which to be honest i prefer.
Wanger isnt rude anyway
 
3d mark o6 is ok for bragging rights, but it doesnt reflect real game performance besides 3d mark gets boring after a while, think ill stick with the games:)
