How big is your overdraft?

Too big and yet not big enough at the same time :( have 2 bank accounts though, one is always in the + the other is stuck somewhere in the depths of OD.

Got a student account with £1500 OD limit. I'm about 900 into it at the moment, although I've also got about £350 in savings which balances it out a bit. Interest free btw, which is why I'm both in my OD and have some savings.

Mine's £1k.

About 2 years ago, I cancelled my overdraft after dragging myself back into the black.

Then a month later the bank (Natwest) gave another OD of £1k WITHOUT notifying me. I didn't complain, but really I should've. It's been at £1k since, and I'm always dipping into it by about £70-£100.

I HATE MY OVERDRAFT!

Halifax did that to me, Surly it's against the law to give you credit without your permission?
I'm out of it know and don't use the account.

£0

I gave them very clear instuctions not to give me one when I applied for a current account. :)

If it's not my money, I wont spend it. (Unless it's a mortgage obviously)

Same here, but they still gave me credit one day when I went over without realising.
I only let that happen the once.

I dont understand why some of you people have so little willpower and so little financial nous that you have to ask for an overdraft to be taken away from you becuase you cant trust yourself. What are you, 15?

why have it there tempting you if you know you dont need it, thats like saying everyone who doesnt want a credit card has no willpower, it just means they have no need to be spending someone elses money.

I would say that it is impossible to know that you will never need to use your overdraft. The only exception to that would be if you kept a lot of money in your current account at all times, to cover all eventualities.

£2750 interest free.

at -1200ish just now, been as far down as 2300.

also got a credit card to my mum's account for "emergencies" - it's got a stupidly high limit and I've never used it.
