Basicly when I play some games with my window closed in my room I get lockups of the whole gfx driver ( both screens go black, pc not frozen but doing something, sometimes beeping when I press kb buttons), it happens randomly in TDU, altho this is perfectly fine for hours ( ive played sessions of 3hrs, but thats with window open making my room very cold ), it sometimes randomly freezes.
Problem also noticed in Dirt, Crysis.
CoD4 is fine so far regardless of window/temps.

So this has let me think the gfx card is sometimes overheating in some games, is there any way I can set the card to go @ 90% fan speed @ 70 C, @ 70C the stock fan speed is still below 60 % as it's unhearable and only from 60 % it gets hearable, obv I want the fan to be silent when not gaming so hence I wana have automatic fan control, just want to edit the full fan speed requirement temp.

Ideally I'd like this:
-60 C: Like it is now, duno how exactly but far below 60 % anyways.
60-65C: 70% fan speed.
65-70: 80% fan speed.
-75: 90% Speed.
75C< 100% speed.

Is it possible to do this?
Card atm gets to 85C during games and the fan is still unhearable, so that means it's still @ 60 or 70 % fan speed instead of 100%.
When I use rivatuner to set the fan @ 100%, my gfx card drops to 45 C idle 54 C loaded, but it sounds like a hoover.

Do you have an 8800GT?
I had a similar heat problem with mine. Riva works well but you end up with a noisey gaming experience. Swap the cooler on it for something more efficient.

TY will do that in the weekend when I've slept enough, atm I even have trouble reading that article but it looks good :D. Hope that'll do the trick once it's done as I prefer silence when idle but I want 100% stability during games.

Checked settings appears auto fan had set it @ 36%.
I set it @ 80% manually at all times and it's not that noisy but definatly noisier, but the result : drop of 30 C during load ( to 55 C) and 22 C ( to 45 C) when idle.

Edit : @ dr sarf

Nope an 8800GTS G92.
I dunno if it's a heat problem for sure yet, it's well within the speced temps it never rose above 88 C even with the auto fan, but somehow when I opened my windows in my room making my room a lot colder, my games never crashed, could be unrelated but meh, I'll see when my gfx card is cept a lot cooler. The dual slot cooler is good enough I think as with the fan @ 80% temps are nice and low, and even with fan @ 60 % the temp drop is noticable a lot, the auto fan settings are just a bit too poor, 36% fan speed is really too little imo.

Have to do this to get Rivatuner working on the new GTS. :)

Owners of the new 8800GTS 512MB will need to modify the current version of RivaTuner to work correctly, it just needs five characters (,600h) added to the config

,600h

Code:
[GPU_10DE]

G92 = 610h-61Fh

Code:
[GPU_10DE]

G92 = 610h-61Fh[COLOR="Yellow"],600h[/COLOR]
