I don't have that problem and that's what happened to me. It give me discipline which is what people lack these days.

does the person have an alround good lifestyle?
are they dependant on the technology to fill a hole or is it purely a discipline problem
If there is a good social circle, love and support but missing a strong male model then it is discipline. If they have not got that then it's psychological and punishing does nothing but hurt
To me violence towards me makes me violent towards the person being violent to me anyway this is getting off-topic.

Streaming porn nadayada when i was 16 i had my own ISDN line and i never streamed porn or really bothered about it everyone is different. Your son does not need a job as such he needs a woman to push him on in life trust me. And you let him get in this position anyways if he had some advice on what awaits him in life instead of threats and nagging parents he might decide for himself what is best.
If you have to come on forums asking us how to deal with him we already know the answer, You failed and cant talk openly to your son which is a classic among the double job parents. My own parents worked a lot and we had the same problems.

When I was 16-19 I would stay up all night, now aged 22, I have to go to bed at like 10-11pm, I can't do it anymore, on the very rare occasion i'll be up till like 2am maybe, maybe let time takes its toll?

in the asus router you can just tell it to turn all internet connections off after a certain time

Technology = correct answer. Simplest method with no violence and creates discipline at the same time.
I'll be honest if I did that when I was 19 I would have either been thrown out or definitely given a few slaps.
You aren't his friend, you're his parent and when he's living with you it's under your rules, if you think he's not adhering to those rules you have every right to do whatever you see fit(Obviously it's less common these days to be able to slap a kid, regardless if they deserve it)
Just take the internet away entirely, not restricting it, entirely until he has a strict chore/job seeking timetable setup, so for instance, every week he has to:
Apply to at least X amount of jobs
Hoover the entire house
Wash the dishes as and when they are there
Keep his space tidy and presentable
Also get him to sell his mechanical keyboard and get a rubber domed one to help you cope with the noise.

He isn't beating the crap out his son with a cricket bat, he just wants him to stop being a fapping oxygen thief and have some respect and aspirations in life.
I'd treat him like a poo until he deserves otherwise. Rent is required and no noise after 10PM.

Ok since apparently I need to say this for persons such as yourself, OP try not to murder rape or mutilate your 19 year old son.
The guy is concerned about turning the internet off, needless to say I didn't assume I needed to put a disclaimer telling him not to severely injure his son mentally or physically.
