Via the shop, which in turn I found via seeing somebody in the computer lab at school on the website (and in true nerd style he was talking excitedly to his friends about hardware item XYZ, and they were all hypnotized by the screen).
That was back in 2003 now I think. Also, I registered on the forums before this account says; I didn't visit for a while after my initial question to the forums and thus forgot both my password AND the e-mail address I signed up with. So then when I visited a few months later I naturally created another account, not knowing this was against the rules. Then on Christmas day 2004 (which is also my birthday) I got found out because both accounts showed up as having a birthday that day, and someone must have spotted the details matched. So there I was, Christmas day evening, visit the forums as usual and find I was banned! Fortunately though, someone put me in touch with Feek who was very understanding and unbanned my account (and deleted the other).
First purchase was an Asus 52x CD-RW iirc
