How did you find OCUK and more specifically - the forum!

Found the site from pcformat magazine.

Found the forum googling for info on dell 2405. At that time there was a huge thread on here on the dell. Registered and stayed. Cancelled my sub to pcformat as everything i needed to know was on here. Such questions like do you put you left or right shoe on first are all answered.

Playing SWG and one of my guild members knew i was after a job in the IT area and that i had stores experience told me that a company local to myself (17 miles) was after people. After browsing the site and looking over the jobs i finally found the forums.

Was introduced to the forums (GD in particular) by gf before she was my gf, and then I discovered the shop, and then discovered it's like, 10 mins down the road from me at home = I Heart OcUK

Don't we all. :p

I found it through a PCAdvisor mag advert or product review one or the other, as they had it very cheap.

Then was bored so clicked forums and lurked about for a year, then signed up and lurked with about 10 posts.

Changed my ISP forgot all passwords and was off school with something that stuck me in bed for 3 months, so I re-registered and started posting and started an addiction I still have 3 years on. :(

Were you looking for case pr0n then?

I don't remember how I found the forums, but I was here for a good few months lurking and reading overclocking threads before I realised there was an actual shop called OcUK related to these forums... :o (To my great regret in fact, as half the bits in the first PC I built for myself were a competitor's "own brand" bits and they were awful...)

it was before the nuke in 2002, i think it would have early 2000 when i first joined the forums as that was when i first build a PC, so was looking for plaes to buy from, found the forums via the main OCUK site.

Found the OCUK site from links and recommendations for them in one of the UK PC newsgroups

Introduced to the forum by Surfsquid, or, as he is known in this house, 'him upstairs on the ****** computer again'. We were doing one of those quiz / riddle thingies and were looking for clues. I think a donkey was involved......................in the quiz I mean.

People from the first forum I ever read (PC mag related) always linked here. Took me ages before I rea and registerd as it was so bug and intimidating at the time. Plus the dark colour scheme took ages to get used to!

I joined in 1998. Since then have introduced a few who in turn have made introductions. Murf, Clerkin, Chopper Dave, Chinook, Twedd17, Kell_ee001 are some that come to mind. Shame there's no introduction scheme :p

came across the shop when looking for components, then i was recommended the shop from members of another forum.

had a look around, ordered some stuff, saw the forum button right in the middle of the page and thought why not...what i had failed to see was the bit saying click here to sign your life away, you will never leave this place

A good mate of mine used to post here on occasion(maybe still does, I haven't seen him on here for a long time) and I thought it looked like it might be worth doing a bit of posting and reading here.

Bought some stuff from the shop for a new build and had some problems getting it to boot - asked in here for some help and got it :) Didn't even look in GD for ages...

I first found and signed up to the forum after a friend of mine, already a member, told a shockingly poor joke. We had been arguing for days over it and he finally made a post about it here. I joined up to oppose his lies. As soon as a full blown, pedantic debate erupted over this so called joke, I knew I was home.

I had known about the OCUK store for sometime before that, can't say exactly how or when I found it though... just one of those sites you'll find when searching for computer stuff.
