I'd say my taste is quite diverse. For example, If I look at my iPod then a few different artists that jump out at me are:

Disturbed
Bonnie Tyler
Slipknot
Michael Jackson
Enter Shikari
Robbie Williams
Machine Head
Elvis Presley

I'd say that was a broad range there. But I'm mainly geared towards metal, alternative and 80's pop/rock. :)

wouldn't say mine is that diverse, I'd much rather have 10 bands with 30 albums each, than 300 bands with 1 album each...

neither Nirvana or Oasis will be making any new music though :/

i'm quite narrow minded really. although i do listen to music from opposite ends of the musical spectrum, i'm still very fussy about what i listen to. and looking at my last fm stats i spend far too much time listening to a small amount of similar artists. :o

I don't think I've met anybody who doesn't think their music collection is diverse. I don't know whether I can class mine as diverse or not as I'm not 100% sure exactly what it means in musical terms...diverse within a particular culture, diverse within a particular genre, diverse within world music, etc, or is it diverse within all of them?

I don't think it really matters though tbh, I just think people like to say their collection is diverse as it makes them appear, or so they think, more wind-swept and interesting.

Mine is ridiculously narrow minded. It probably ranges from house to electro-house :p

But in reality I like songs from loads of genres and would never not listen to something because its the wrong genre.
