How do I fix DHCP issues in Vista?

I can't use IE in Vista and it seems there is a problem with DHCP... anyone got any ideas on how to fix?

Probably not the best solution that will be offered, but if you can't fix the problems you're experiencing then try another web browser e.g. Opera or Firefox.

But as I say I'm only offering a last ditch solution..

I've tried that before, same problem.

View status of the connection then click diagnose - then choose from get new IP or reset connection.

It says the connection is fine.

Virtually everytime i wake the PC from sleep i have to do this. Could be router settings of course but i forgot my password

You realise there is a little button to reset your router to its original password?

Does the Internet and your LAN work? If so I don't see how it can be a DHCP issue

Is IE just giving DNS errors or something?

The internet works, but only when accessed through "Welcome to Vista > Conntect to the Internet" where it tells me I'm already connected and asks if I want to surf...

If I start IE then no. I can download update, just not browse.
