How do I go about fattening up my new bird?

I'm quite lucky with my moggy.

When she spots a bird, she looks like she's in hunting mode, but she always bottles it when it comes to the kill. Trust me to get a cat with no killer instinct.

Make sure that food isn't straight out of the microwave. I read / heard somewhere of the number of people who do this and kill the bird by burning their insides

Good luck!

Ah bugger; went to give him his feed and found him on his back. I picked him up and held him for 10 minutes and he gave out a couple of twiches his eyes glaced over and he was gone. I'll bury him tomorrow. :(

RIP Tweety

And the moral of the story is: don't give heroin to to wrens.

Yeah that's it. :) I'm really soppy when it comes to animals.

I'm a bit gutted, although we didn't spend much time together I saved his life and tried to help him, I honestly though he would be good to go in a couple of days.

Ah well.

I was going to say marry her, that usually makes em go fatter.

Then i saw you were on about the feathered kind.

Like you said, at least you tried.

I've attempted to aid the recovery of an injured bird twice now but both times they died.

Most likely due to Septicaemia as posted further up.

Go to a Fishing tackle shop & buy some maggots for it.

Well done for trying to save it, I like Wrens we have a few that regularly come back here, Tiny little things that fly like bullets.

Wasn't a wren

Was some young bird but I'mnot sure what

Poor lil things usually die of shock :-\
I've kept a fair few birds that are orphaned /cat captures. Almost always the ones caught by cat die
