How do I remove the glue that sticks some letters and numbers on back of your car?

After doing a lot of hand car wash all the letters and numbers are gone but some terrible glue thing is left.

What should I use so I don’t destroy the paint.

Many thx for all your help :)

Try zippo lighter petrol, nail varnish remover, cellulose paint thinners in that order of availability. All of them should get it off but you will need to wax the paint afterwards. Babay oil might do it but you'll need to let it soak for a bit and it might leave a greasy mark on the paint.

Heat it with hair dryer
Try and carefully peel it away
Use wood polisher/WD40/similar lubricant - leave on for about 5 mins
Wipe away with sponge/similar

Worked wondered for me :)

carefully, with petrol or a different solvent and some kitchen towel. Nothing abbrasive or too pwerfull and don't rub very hard.

I used something called panel cleaner, worked a treat.

Hot water does the trick and something like a t-cut to get it looking a bit better.

Get some T-Cut on to it. Then once the you've bluffed to glue/t-cut away, wash your car again and then give it a good wax.

I have done similar to Maccy. Heat with a hair dryer, carefully peel off what you can. Use WD40 or white spirit on a soft cloth to wipe of any excess (carefully, do not rub hard - you shouldn't need to). Wash well with water and car shampoo then wax.
