How do you cook your rice?

This is how I do it:

  1. Rinse rice well in sieve and boil kettle
  2. Place rice in pan with boiling water and simmer until cooked
  3. Once cooked, rinse under hot water. This helps separate the rice
  4. Put some boiling water in a saucepan and steam in the sieve for about 5 minutes to help seperate the grains more and provide a fluffy texture.

Seems to work well.

1- Rinse with water in a sieve (or better soak for a few minutes in a pan and then rinse it through)
2- Boil the kettle and stick it in a pan with boiling water. Cook till just shy of completely done.
3- During this time boil the kettle again and pour most of it over the rice through a sieve.
4- The above is fine, but for a lighter, more fluffy rice, put some of the water from the kettle back in the pan (just enough the cover the bottom) and steam it for another couple of minutes.

Boil basmati rice, after rinsing for a minute, for 5 mins with some salt. Pour into a collander and place on a saucepan with a little water in and let it steam for 10 mins. Oh yeah, make sure you cover the top of the collander with foil.
