Four people have been killed by cows already this summer
Four people have been trampled to death by cows in just over eight weeks this summer, prompting British farmers and the Ramblers Association to warn yesterday of the potential dangers.

A farmer was tossed by a bull and trampled to death by his own cows in front of his daughter as they worked on the family farm.
John Leslie Ward, 67, was fastening identity tags on to calves on the farm in Ridgeway on the Sheffield-Derbyshire border when a bull attacked him, throwing him into the air. When he landed on the ground, a cow, whose calf the farmer was tagging, began stamping on him

LONDON (Reuters) - The deaths of no fewer than four people after being trampled by cows in the past two months has prompted Britain's main farming union to issue a warning about the dangers of provoking the normally docile animals. Cows can become aggressive and charge, especially when calves are present and walkers are accompanied by dogs, said the National Farmers Union (NFU).
