I've never had an issue with cows nor a fear/wariness of them TBH but I did work with them for about 7 years including in fields and in sheds/milking parlours etc (so VERY close quarters). Perhaps its complacency but guess it could also be just knowing how to deal with them that its natural. Granted this will be completely down to my experience and interactions with them over the years.
Bulls, on the other hand can be troublesome. Bullocks and Stirks as well - when they are in a group, they can be akin to a bunch of teenage neds/chavs and are nosey as ****
