How do you eat a kebab?

Dumped a bit of salad, meat and sauce into each pitta then nommed by hand, had enough of each left over to mix together and used a fork for that.

Best kebab ever btw, complete lack of grease, tons of flavour etc. Going for their kebab rolls next time...

Donor gone posh? This has blown my mind. I don't understand. This is NOT right.

I just try and take as much as I can in my mouth and bits of it go everywhere. I've been told that it's a rather disgusting sight. :D

Trust me, it weren't.

It's one of the best kebab houses for miles around. Always rammo. It was delicious. Probs just the crappy phone pic.

Which one is it?

On the occasions I do have a Kebab it will be from Eltham Kebab House in Well Hall. Usually have chicken shish and donor mix with chips. If I get it for home I use a fork, rarely get it for eating out.

Used to live in Nottingham and used Sheesh Mahal as it was walking distance and each kebab came on a freshly made Naan well over a foot in length, so you did actually have a proportional amount of bread to meat and chips. My friend used to get their special which was every meat they did in large amounts in a single naan, never knew how he managed to finish it all.

OMG

Honestly it was pretty amazing. It's usually listed as one of the best in London - looks like a typical kebab place too. I had the best special which has donner, kofte, lamb and chicken shish.

Next time I'm going for a couple kebab rolls (one lamb shish one kofte) which are ready to eat rather than the pitta and maybe meat and chips as well /fatty.

This is not how to eat donner meat.

The donner meat should be plain apart from chilli sauce, and it should be accompanied by a portion of chips, with lots melted cheese on top.

You may then garnish with mayo, salt, vinegar, according to taste.

Salad? bread? you people are insane!

Surely it becomes less of a kebab and more a pile of donner meat if you remove every other element?

EDIT: Ahh, you you didnt say kebab, my bad. Still, you do need the pitta/naan, it's just not the same experience if you dont end up with a soggy piece of chilli soaked naan bread at the end.

Isn't it called a kebab because the meat is cooked on a skewer? ;)

I've been to a lot of kebab shops in my days and what you have described is definitely donner meat and chips with cheese :D

Sadly, I think my kebab days are numbered. Since I moved to the Surrey 'burbs I've tried all the local kebabs and they're all inedible, even by my standards. KERAVING a donner for dinner now :(

Y'all got to hit a kebab restaurant in Istanbul, seriously one the best tasting meals I've ever had!

I generally go with a chicken shish\lamb doner mix with all salad (inc. pickled chilies), chili sauce (simmering away in a saucepan) and garli mayo. Eaten with a fork, all mixed together. The big question is... can I talk the misses into one tonight?!

Doner isn't necessarily bad for you either, some are put together on premises and are awesome! Factory made stuff obviously ain't gonna be to good.

Friday is "KEBAB NIGHT", lamb shish with all the trimming and french fries, tonight we'll eat outside and wash it down with lashing of Kopparberg Pear Cider (two guilty pleasures in one sitting, oh my!)
