How do you feel when you see your "hours played" figure on a computer game?

It makes me wonder what I could have achieved if I spent it doing something else, in all honesty. It didn't used to.

:edit: I do realise that this is flawed. It isn't as simple as "spend that time doing something productive", because that leisure time is in itself part of a lifestyle where you are doing something productive at other times. It can be difficult to see it that way when you're just sat looking at the raw numbers however.

103 days just from my steam account... that doesn't include my time from the Xfire days with games that weren't on Steam either - 2000 hours worth of vCod/2 & 4 on there easily...

The game was amazing, I even made a montage (now unlisted due to extreme cringe)
It was basically school > home > COD4 > Sleep. Repeat for a few years. :p
Ahh, I miss the promod COD4 days so much...

Come on, you can't say that and not share it. :D

I just read the description I wrote for it and already want to leave the planet.
You can have this little gem as a taster of what I had to offer.

Excellent quality, top audio and the best editing Birmingham has to offer.

Edit: This is the only place I still use ThaReaperGuy name on... have since moved on for obvious reasons. :p

You can't be constantly productive, it's like saying I've wasted X amount of hours sleeping when I could be studying to be an astronaut.

People have been 'wasting time' for centuries, be it reading, theatre, arts etc.

Everyone needs time and activities to take their mind away from problems/stress or even to meet friends - gaming is just one of those things.

Oh crap I forgot Planetside and eq2.

They were my second jobs.

I must have 1000s on them each.

I've got 300 on Fallout 4 and still not completed it! Trying to get as much done before completing the main story as I know it won't be revisited.

15 days on rainbow 6 since it came out about 4 years ago... Probably that and destiny are my most played games...

Relatively compared to when I was a teenager I don't play that much, so don't regularly feel guilty. Would only be otherwise watching TV.

First thing I think is what great value for money I have had from the spend on that game which has created fun times with friends and then think in comparison what I would have spent in money if I had spent that time going out drinking.

The games always win :) It's not a problem if that's what you enjoy.

I don't really look but I no longer buy lots of games. I more or less won't buy something else unless I'm done with the current one and almost 100% MP focussed even if that means missing out on great SP games, I'm simply not interested in them.

I've probably only played two since 2014, Elite Dangerous and PUBG but in truth I'm lucky if I get 10 hours a month at the moment.
