How do you make commuting more bearable?

when I used to work in London and get the train everyday I played the 'pretend I am insane game'. I would have a full conversation with myself but play out 2 different people. Talkig to yourself and saying sentences like 'they are coming' and 'you won't take me conscious' also went down a storm.

It was a great way of ensuring I had plenty of personal space to sit in.

Don't have to do every day yet, but when I do - and this might sound weird - I like to spend the time on public transport resting/meditating and working on my posture and body alignment. Feels like a good use of time, and helps when I get out the other end.

Music
Games on the 3DS

I'd miss my commute if it was gone - two hours a day that are all mine

Read or Sleep... mostly sleep at the moment. Adds an extra 1hr - 1hr 30mins sleep time a day.

Noise cancelling headphones make the commute bearable, so I can block out the nattering women who always seem to sit near me on the 06.39. I inherited a pair of Bose noise cancelling phones, and though they may not be the last word in hi-fidelity they do a damn good job of cutting out external noise, and they're v comfortable too.

Also blocks out the cretins blasting out rap stuff on their ipods (those standard ipod
d headphones are useless, everyone else in the carriage hears everything they're listening to).

Nice girls to peek at :).

When underground ( no internet), no birds to look at and forgetting my headphones, the good old fasioned newspaper works wonders too.

This is assuming public transport, in the car, booting it here n there makes :( into :), along with music nice and loud.
